Could I spray it on acrylic to reduce glare/reflection without influencing transparency?

I use this material to spray my wood carvings before I paint them with acrylics. Then after I finish the painting and I sign the carving I spray another light coat of this matt finish to seal it. Then I put and antiquing finish on the carving. there is no glare or reflection noted. I bought a total of 9 cans because it works so well.

can I use this for metal, for a towel rack I spray painted?

It is commonly used to dull or matte a glossy painted metal surface. If done correctly, the results are outstanding.

No it is not waterproof. I tested it before I answered this on a graphite pencil drawing. The water beaded at first but then soaked through the paper and the graphite was easily smeared. I would definitely say this is not waterproof.

It's a sealer. if you spray item, then decorate, it will rub or wear off. If you spray the item, decorate, then respray, it will spray the ink or paint off. I suggest you decorate box, then spray to seal it
