Almost, but ....
I would love to give this 5 stars, but the software to control it (at least on Android) is VERY incomplete.Issues:1. Won't sync with anything with the screen in landscape mode, just crashes when you select the "Add new device". In portrait mode, it works fine. Guess it's a Steve Jobs, "you are holding it wrong" issue. ;-)2. Doesn't seem to sync to more than one device. I want to be able to control it from both my phone and tablet. Bluetooth can easily handle this.3. No widgets. With Android, that's a fail.4. No intents, so you can't control it with programs like Tasker and AutomateIt.I did send a message on the bPoint web site, but no response so far. I'll update this, if things change. (for better or worse)

Very nice bluetooth switch/app combo, and a great find for Hacker/maker/DIY types.
Nifty little gadget. I bought it for a project involving bluetooth and it is great for a DIY bluetooth switch. I got it at a discount in return for an honest review, and it fits the bill.the device itself is very compact. The app works well, allows you to set up the device with an eye towards adding multiple plug ins. You can name the room and device that you are using it for. It even accommodates multiple locations. I set it up for proximity use, which means it turns on power when I walk into a room with my S7 edge phone. Turns on pretty quickly- for samsung phones, turn off power manager or it will go to sleep, requiring you to open the app. It doesn't go off immediately when I leave the area with my bluetooth (tested by turning bluetooth off on my phone) but the delay is less than a minute.Pairing was simple- take the bluetooth module off the front and install it after you plug in the device, hit the add button on the app and you are ready to rock and roll. No code required, but you physically have to put the bluetooth module into place to enter pairing mode. I intend to use that module to run a Bluetooth capable proximity switch. Since it has exposed pins on the back, it should be a snap for hackers/DIYers to mod this plug to run other things.

Frustratingly inconsistent
I bought this to use when I was out of town. What a dreamer I am. This thing rarely works when I am literally in the same room as the plug! Half the time, the app won't acknowledge the plug. When it does show the plug, it often says it's disconnected (which it's not). Since it has about a 25% success rate for me, I plan to purchase a completely different device for my next trip. It's a teriffic idea, but poorly executed. Save your money.

Works as advertised, only a two prong plug
Just bought my second smart plug. I use it as a remote control switch and didn't want an extra remote around since I always have my phone with me. After reading the reviews of other Bluetooth plugs, I decided to stick with bpoint because I have never had any connectivity issues. Obviously Bluetooth has limited range but the plug always shows up and is responsive when I'm in range. The only negative is the lack of a ground, it is only a two prong plug.

It works as promised but the range is what is ...
It works as promised but the range is what is keeping me from giving it 4+-stars. Very simple operation and cake to pair with my mobile devices. I wanted to use this to crank up the coffee maker from my bed but, a two walls and a distance of about 20' prevent this from working for what I need.

I am happy with my purchase
The item needed a FW upgrade when the first time I linked it with iPhone App. The upgrade process was frozen. I contacted their customer service, and they provided a solution to resolve the issue immediately. I use the schedule function to turn ON/OFF my night light, and it works very well. I am happy with my purchase.

Beautiful product... but it just doesn't deliver functionally
UPDATE: they updated the software it works better, but it still does have issues syncing after a long day, but it is better, and sync's maybe 70% of time, rather then 0%. This app lacks widgets which would give these wireless products much greater control. I rated it 1 more star, hoping for future updates. At first the product appears to be sleek and modern, it is really quite nice. However with tech, functionality is key and this is where the bPoint smart plug fails to deliver. Setup was simple and the basic on and off function works smoothly, however with one occasion where the connection lost sync. The main issue however is in the proximity feature, which was the main reason I got this. I wanted the lights to turn on when I entered the house and the light off when I left. The product detected when I left and turned the light off but when I came back after a day at work it never came on. This was a deal breaker for me.... it was way to expensive to be an on/off bluetooth technology, it really needed that proximity sensor to put it above others.

"Click the device name to connect.... ...
"Click the device name to connect...." That is the main protocol screen for scanning to see if there is a divice.
