You get what you pay for.
We were going to buy from Pottery Barn, but after some unexpected house repairs came up, decided to save some money and went with this bed. Online, it looked identical to the PB bed we had chosen and one of the things I was adamant about was that it could convert to two beds like the Pottery Barn bed did. I should have looked more closely and studied the measurements. The upper bunk is so low and my 3 year old can't sit up in bed, so this is definitely not a bed he and his 5 year old brother can grow with if it's bunked. The PB bed has two taller headboards that make up the bottom bunk, while the foot boards make up the top, giving it a much higher lift between beds. This bed has 4 panels all the same height (low, foot board height), so looks a little puny when it's two beds. I'm also not thrilled that the ladder is not able to be used in various positions on the bed, so it's at the head of the bed, so we can't use a nightstand. The screws and bolts are all VERY visible too. Other than that, it feels sturdy enough and there is no wobbling at all. For the price, I'm happy for now, but will definitely upgrade in 2-3 years once my younger son outgrows the low bottom bunk.

Nice bed, can't sit up on bottom, have to buy another bunk bed in about a year.
The bed took my husband four hours with no help. He reinforced anywhere that required screws with glue. The center beam under the top bunk seems sturdy but I must admit that we're being very strict about the beds: no playing, top bunk for reading or sleeping. It's a beautiful bed. Good price.I am disappointed in the clearance between the top and bottom bunk. My girls just turned 4, are rather petite for their age and can barely sit up on the bottom without bumping their heads. They have to be super careful. I'm only 5'6 and can't even sit slightly propped on the bottom. I will have to buy another bunk bed pretty soon because of this. I wish I had followed my instinct and purchased the pottery barn version. Since I have to buy two bunk beds in the span of two years, I'm spending the same amount of money anyway. Another two inches underneath could have spared me the need to buy another one.

Superior Quality, Excellent Price, Great Packaging
Like many others, I researched bunk beds extensively before purchasing. We chose the Twin over Twin with Trundle so my 2 grandsons and their little sister could each have a bed. These beds are made of pine - the best material for children's furniture because it is affordable AND sturdy. As one reviewer pointed out - pine is a soft wood. But that is a plus. If you happen to "ding" it, it will dent and not break or lose the finish. All of the holes aligned perfectly. One important benefit of this particular model is that the beds are identical, so when separated you have two real beds. Another excellent feature is the even heights of the headboard and footboard, this helps support the top bed when stacked. This particular model actually has great height of the head/footboards. An 8-inch mattress fits nicely below the boards AND the side rails to keep the kids from rolling out. The trundle has framing on the long sides with slats on the bottom. We ordered a thin Bunkie mattress but were able to add a 2 inch memory foam topper with room for bedding. These beds sit high off the floor and are even on all sides, so you can add a trundle, drawers, or storage containers underneath and not waste valuable floor space. LOTS of slats make this a great, safe buy. Assembly will go quickly if you can lay everything out and have 2 people working to keep the pieces aligned. A backup allen wrench is also a good idea - one was provided but we wore it down by the time we finished the entire project. Thanks Bedz King for a great product!

Genuinely lovely bunk bed!
Honestly, this is a fabulous bed. I built it single-handedly in about three hours (I built the top bunk in situ above the lower bunk and used a stool to place and space the slats) and I'm a 5ft 6 140lb gal, so if I can do it, you can too. Quality is good ad the hardware worked perfectly. Instructions are sound. I can get up into the top bunk and lay down without any movement from the frame whatsoever — though I hasten to add this is for our seven-year-old daughter. We ordered a pair of twin memory foam mattresses and they slid in with a small amount of room to spare lengthwise.Overall, this is a truly great buy. We've recommended it to friends. It's a genuinely nice bed and the finish is lovely.

Extremely high quality bed for such a ludicrously low price
How anyone can SHIP this bed from Brazil to Amazon then to me (via Fedex 2nd day, no less) for the price it sells for is amazing. This is not to mention the actual manufacture of the product and the fact that everyone makes money. I don't see how it's possible. The bed wood and finish quality are outstanding. Don't let the price fool you, this is a quality product. We are totally pleased with it in every way. Yes, it takes some time to assemble, but if you can read directions and have a power screwdriver handy (HIGHLY recommend a power tool here) with a clutch, it is easy enough. The bed is sturdy, high quality, and unbelievably low cost. I would put this up against any of the $1000-1500 solid wood bunks you see at any of the big furniture stores. My only critique is that the slats under the mattresses are pretty lightweight. There is a lot of flex if a full size adult gets on the bed. We only have two little kids using this, but I stuck a piece of plywood on top of the slats on the top bunk for insurance. I would consider this a requirement if anyone over 150lbs is going to be on the bed. However, considering the extremely low cost for a very high quality finish, I consider this piece of plywood a minor inconvenience.

Not enough headroom
I am not sure who would be comfortable in the bottom bunk of this bed. The headroom after putting in a mattress (and we are using a thin mattress) is right around 23 inches. With the railing on the side, it feels even more claustrophobic for my 11 year old daughter. I would not recommend this bed and I feel that the 30 inch measurement for headroom is very misleading, - the actual headroom is much less, especially if you want to use a normal thickness mattress.
