Awesome tool, worth every penny
This scan tool is fantastic; navigating the code tables can be tricky at first, but it starts to make more sense once you get the hang of it. It's a must-have for any BMW owner wanting to go the DIY route for service. Allows for simple resetting of service interval and pulling those tricky deep BMW-specific codes, etc. This one specifically allows for use with a wider range of model years, which might be helpful for some. If you don't care/need to use it with anything but one particular car, one of the less-universal options might be a better choice (like the PR-R5-FCX-3-16 for ~$30 less).

Does what it says
this tool does exactly what it advertises and it is worth it if you are the kind of person that like to fix their cars themselves, I had to use this tool several times to completely fix the issues with my BMW and it paid for itself in that one job because going to a mechanic each time for a scan would of been more expensive then buying this tool. my one small gripe is it feels kinda cheap for a product that so expensive but it does its job well and once you get used to looking up the codes its extremely easy when troubleshooting problems with your car.

Waste of time and money
Does not work. Codes are nonsensical. Instructions tables are confusing. Waste of time and money. Ended up going to the dealer for an actual code diagnosis.

Does what it says but very expensive
It does read the codes, however, it is very overpriced. A much cheaper code reader is far more user friendly. This tool requires you to refer to the printed tables. No other code reader that I know of for even half the price does that. Unfortunately, I could not find another manufacturer that produces a BMW code reader for use at the consumer level. It did work on 2003 BMW X5 4.4 V8.

Four Stars
Tool works well. Just a shame you need a separate tool for the SRS reset.

does the job!
This scanner is a must have for any older model BMW. It does seem cheap as some reviewers have mentioned, like some thing you would buy out of the dollar store, but it does the job! It will diagnose any engine fault code that you may have, and unlike the general code readers, this one is specific for BMW's and it is able to reset the codes as well. I highly recommend it. It will possibly save you hundreds of dollars.

For the BMW DIY-er
Easy to use and great value. I used this code reader to check codes on my 05 X3 and 97 M3. Autozone ODB2 reader gave a vague idea of the issue. Peake reader gave me the exact issue and then let me reset the codes. Paid for itself on the very first day I had it.

This is what you need for an older BMW
If you do your own work / trouble shooting on an older BMW, this is what you need. It is a very simple device to check for faults / codes, and reset service notices (Oil change indicators). It will pay for itself the first few times you use it. The Peake website has all the information you might need.
