Works great, but turns out I didn't need it
Great connector and installation was easy. I bought this to replace an XLR connector that wasn't locking to the mic any more.As it turns out, I didn't need to replace the connector. Inside my brown connector is a metal "spring" type thing that provides the springing force for the locking clasp. This metal prong has flattened out over the years, reducing the springing action of the latch. All I had to do was open it up and bend the metal prong upwards a bit and now the latch has springing force again.I ended up replacing the connector with this new one before I realized I could repair the old one and it works great. Just be advised if you have the same issue I had, you might be able to repair the existing connector, saving yourself a few bucks.

These are the best choice
Neutrik connectors are the best ones available. Many no-name connectors are not made exactly to the standard, and will not always fit and connect properly. These always work and are simpler to install than most other connectors.

Neutrik is it. Don't bother with other brands for XLR.
Neutrik XLR connectors are the best I've ever used - sturdy and consistent. I'm surprised these cast metal connectors don't cost more. I've used other brands extensively, but after using Neutrik, I don't bother with anything else anymore for XLR. If you know of any better XLR that doesn't cost an arm and a leg, please tell me - haven't seen it yet in the last 15 years. Wish they had gold contacts, but I've used other brands that do have gold contacts and they weren't built as reliable.

Quality connector
These Neutrik connectors are our co-to product for repairing our audio cables or building custom equipment. The solder cups are much (MUCH!) better to work with that the solder cups on any other brand of connector, and the strain relief mechanism is well designed (and saves us a lot of re-work on cable repairs).
