I am so excited that I got this reflective glass for our fireplace! We have an old '90's fireplace in our home, and the previous owner just had sand and lava rocks in it. When we moved into the house we couldn't figure out how to get the fireplace to work so we never paid attention to it. One day my father in law (whom is very handy) figured out how to get things working (it's not electric, it's gas), and BAM! now we have a fireplace we can use! After the excitement of the now working fireplace had worn off, I started getting jealous of all the modern, fancy fireplaces I would see with the pretty rocks... after convincing my husband that I needed to spruce up the fireplace, I purchased this reflective glass (in copper) and it has made ALL the difference!! I was afraid it wouldn't look good, since all the reviews I read for this glass was for outdoor fire pits or newer fireplaces, but let me tell you this looks great, even in our old '90's fireplace! The 10 lb bag was enough for us since I just layered the glass on top of the existing lava, and there was no deep pit to fill. Anyways, I just wanted to post this in case any one else is wondering whether an old built in gas fireplace will look good with this reflective glass, let me tell you, IT DOES!

I had ordered this glass a couple years ago and decided I needed more blue mixed in. I ordered the Azuria blue and it looked exactly the same as the last batch I ordered. I added it to the top of the glass I already had and lit a fire. All of the new glass that actually had the flame on it now looks like it's burnt. The blue is barely there and it looks horrible. I never knew fire glass could burn like that. The fire isn't any hotter or more intense than it has been in the past. My last batch didn't do this? So disappointed.I'd like to revise my review since I contacted American Fireglass. After sending pictures, they explained how they achieve that particular color and that this batch may have been a bad batch. They sent me 20lbs to replace it (in non-reflective since it was out of stock). I appreciate them doing this and haven't had any problems yet.

The glass is very nice quality and the appearance is very nice as well. However, the size is supposed to be 1/4” but there are MANY much larger size pieces which I really did not want for my gas fireplace. Many pieces are larger than an inch. I took a good deal of time to arrange the fireglass so the much larger pieces were not quite so obvious and it looks very good.The original fireglass which came with my fireplace was very uniform in size, so I did not expect this. I bought the new fireglass because I wanted a color change and shiny new glass.Overall nice quality item but they should better control uniformity of the size of peices.

I purchased 10lbs. of the 1/4" copper and 5lbs of the 1/2" blue reflective. Used most of the copper for base layer and then mixed in the two colors for the top layer in a 18" x18" 2" deep LP firepit. Perfect amount of fireglass and filled right to the top. Nice size combo of bigger and smaller pieces and both have reflective mirror sides to them. A few tips... Dump first into a pasta strainer or tight mesh with some sort of catch beneath it. This will quickly clean the fireglass of all glass dust and tiny fragments. Then pour into another large container lined with paper towels to soak excess water. Then simply dump into firepit and they are clean! No drying needed. We used last night and glass holds heat nicely and color bcombo looks like it is ice melting. Very happy overall.

I bought a propane gas fire pit and it came with Hawaiian lava rock for the bed of the fire pit. Will not do. My wife insisted on finding a gold/amber glass fill that would glow when the fire was lit. She was right. These glass crystals were just the fix for our fire pit. It looks gorgeous when the flames pop out of them. Nice color scheme.

We bought the 'H' fireplace gas burner (also from this vendor); laid it on the floor of the fireplace, and poured 50 pounds of this fire glass over the burner. Our fireplace is 36" wide and 22" deep (though narrower across the back) and 50 pounds is exactly the right amount, tapered in the front and banked so it's higher at the back. 50# covered the gas burner perfectly. This is a great look if you want to update the look of your fireplace and get rid of that 1970 fake cement 'log'. Reasonably priced, substantially less than buying from either the local fireplace store or even the big box hardware stores.

Good product. Quality item at an ok price. Don't waste time .. This is a good way to go.I had to buy 8 bags (80 lbs total) to cover a 30" circular fire pit (inside diameter) by about 2". I probably need another 20 lbs if I want to fill it up into a mound but I'm ok for now.Looks very cool. Glad I got the reflective version.4 stars since not all pieces were chunks. Some were long sharp shards... Not as advertised.

I orderd the amber glass solo but they don't tell you will get (2) bags. One of the amber and the other of broken mirror. You can see this in this pic but this is NOT the pic I ordered from. I was expecting one bag of uniform color but got two - one amber and one broken mirror. Disappointed at first but was able to make it work. Wish people would just shoot straight; would be so much easier to do biz.

This product is beautiful! The fire glows and distributed the fire evenly! Our fire pit originally came with this product and lasted 7 years! We store our fire pit in the garage for the winter season to keep it as beautiful as the day we bought it! I have seen other products and they are just not the sane! You get what you pay for!

To small cips. They produce also smoke. I payed only 27cad for, thats the only reason i keep them.
