This healthy line mat was a game changer for me. I broke my ankle several years ago and every winter since I wake with pain and stiffness. In the morning when it’s cold out it aches and I’m slow to get moving sometimes having a limp until it works itself out in 30-60min. Im not 65. I’m in my 30s!!!! The warm FAR heat all over the body just feels so soothing and relaxing. If you plan to sleep on this it’s definitely safe for that but make sure you turn it wayyyy down. 100-110 is a good range. I love that it comes with a cover to protect it however it’s rather flimsy I bought a spa fitted sheet that’s soft like a normal sheet but waterproof used for their tables and it perfectly fits the healthyline but has the fitted sheet elastic around the entire perimeter so it secures and protects much better. $30 well spent to protect my long term investment. It’s so easy to use. Remove from box remove from travel bag. Insert power plug into the mat unit. Plug in power on select time and temp. This thing heats up fast. It’s fair to say it will hit 120 in about 10-15m esp if it’s covered or you’re already sitting/laying on it. I've been using this mat for about a week or so. It has been helping me to sleep better, and to reduce the amount of sleep medicine that I use. It isn't designed to be the most comfortable mat that you have ever used. If I were only using it to meditate, that would be fine. Since I am trying to use it for improved sleep, it was first placed on my padded physical therapy table. Next two thick, luxury-type towels were placed on it. Through these towels, the stones and placement of the mat could no longer be felt. I did manual checks to ensure that it stayed in place. To a great extent it did; I only shifted it twice during the week. This probably varies by the surface and the user. This mat offers control over the temperature and includes a 9 hour timer. The first time that I used it, I set it as high as it would go, covered myself with a heavy blanket, and slept for 9 hours. That is not the best way to get started. It is a good way to get dehydrated! Lol! With more appreciation for the power of this mat, I started to use shorter time intervals and lower heat settings. If a few days I noticed improvement in my energy levels and I am getting more things done. I was surprised when the mat arrived to see that the controller is different than what is described on the seller page. There is a flyer that states that it is the new controller for 2016. It does not have the EMF sensor or touch button. I can only guess that something didn't work out with the other model; and I would rather have something simple that works than extra gadgets that do not. This one has a center button to turn the power on, buttons on the left to increase or decrease the temperature (in Celsius), and buttons on the right to increase or decrease the time before shutting off. After the desired temperature is set, the display changes to show you the current temperature of the mat. I like that feature, as sometimes I'd realize that it was warm enough before it reached the setting, so I adjusted for that. The digital display lights up in red. This makes it easier to read, and at night I didn't have to turn on a light to make changes. I do wish that It had a timer that could be set to go on and off at certain intervals. I'm still learning what works best for me to get a full night's sleep. Since I tend to get colder at a certain time, it would be great to be able to compensate for that by using different settings through the night. That said, even though I find that a couple of times during the night I wake a bit, change it, and go back to sleep, it is still a better sleep than I had before. I feel more clear-headed, better rested, and have better energy than when I use sleep medicine. Right now using this mat is the only way that I actually fall asleep without medication. At some point I will find a way to measure the far infrared energy and EMFs, to compare those with the claims for the product. Right now I do not have a way to do that; I can simply report on my experience as a new user. I'm glad to be sleeping better! I have separate timers here for electrical devices and as I figure out what the best pattern for me is, I will try using that way of influencing the pattern of warmth through out the night. Through the subscription program offered by Amazon, I will be purchasing additional mats for others in my family, and perhaps to add one at my feet for the winter. During the daytime we are all sharing this one. Someone always wants to be using it! The towels described above are keeping it sanitary. Since the cost of those is proportional to size, I prefer to have more than one small mat instead of a larger one so that I may have different settings for different areas (i.e. trunk, legs, feet), for different people (my spouse and I have different needs for the amount of heat), and just in case any issue ever arises with the electronics. For example, I use shorter light strings and never lose a whole display; similarly I am using smaller mats and when the time comes that they get older and start to give out, here's hoping that they will not do so all at once. :) Plan well and hope for the best, right?!? There is a warranty registration to send in and I will do that, too. Time to put this extra energy to good use; I hope that this review is helpful to you in your shopping decisions. I cannot tell you how much I love my infrared mat. My only complaint is that I wish I had gotten it sooner! I'm a 33 year old female with several health issues - Fibromyalgia, Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy, Pelvic Floor Syndrome (muscles too tight), and kidney stones, to say the least... I have them all right now at the exact same time. Heat is the only thing that makes me feel better. I seriously don't know what I would have done without my mat right now! This mat has been a godsend to me. If I'm at home, I'm using it. It's the only thing that makes me feel better. My only complaint is I wish they had a portable version like the Thermacares (except it'd be way better). Got this for pain in my back. I've had several back operations and don't like taking pain medications and have been spending a lot at the chiropractor trying to get relief. This does help with the pain, but you have to spend a lot of time using it. It's not a quick fix. I slept on it all night several times and over a few weeks, I started to notice I had less pain. Now it's my go to when my back starts hurting a lot. Also, haven't needed to see my chiropractor since I got this. It works well as long as it is heated up pretty good , and I like that it can be adjusted for time and heat setting. It does get pretty warm, which is fine for winter, but I don't think I'll be able to stand it when summer gets here. Sadly. Wish it worked without heating it up.

My 59-year-old wife has (or had) extreme joint pain, mostly in her hands, thumbs, and wrists. She also has (or had) intense pain in her right buttock, however none of her doctors would even acknowledge that. She just endures (or used to) the pain because she does not like taking drugs. Still, she can't keep weight on, is often depressed, and the pain is (or was) so bad that at times she doesn't know how she can go on like this. Our family doctor and other specialists are "not ruling out" rheumatoid arthritis (an autoimmune disorder, and there is a family history of it). A friend loaned us a book about alternative treatments for back pain (a problem I have had since shoveling snow this past winter). I've bought two of these mats in the last 3 weeks and the very first night that I slept on the medium size jade and tourmaline mat, I slept the entire night! I usually wake up to go to the bathroom lol. My mother has also experienced this same phenomenon. In addition my mothers joints are feeling much better, less pain and discomfort. I am going to recommend these Healthy Line mats to family and friends. I have researched prices of other brands and I bought one that can only heat up to 55 degrees. The quality of the other brand is not as good and I think that paying a little more money is definitely worth it.

I purchased the full length mat and have used it for the past few week. I concur with the other reviewers that this mat is a game changer. I did sleep on it last night for the first time and had a sleep score of over 90 on my Fitbit, which is a personal best. I’ve never tried a mat like this before, know nothing of the science or theory behind it (must have some validity since it qualifies for FSA or HSA) don’t have chronic pain, but feel like crap after sitting at my desk for 10 hours as a remote tech worker. 15-20 minutes on the mat, I feel calm, relaxed, mind clears and am about to drift off to a peaceful sleep. I have a son with Down syndrome who has fitful sleep common to DS. He discovered the mat and now fights me over it. I’m purchasing a smaller version for him. I also just ordered the small Tao mat for when I’m working at my desk. Fiancé tried it and is talking of upgrading our current full length single mat to queen size model so we can use it together. Manufacturer will let you “trade in” your existing mat for an upgrade. Yep, it’s that good.

Love the item and warrenty however, I've spent months calling and no one answers and my heating pad is not usable. They are supposed to hold greatcwarr we ties and even be able to be traded in for an upgrade but no one is there to support and yes I did register my Matt as well.

Have had product for 4 months and it has been great until tonight. The control panel blew up, melted and started smoking so its totally unusable after 4 months Paid $1000 so should last longer than 4 months. Very very disappointed
