Tough break-in but worth it.
I’ve had Red Wing, Chippewa, and Danner logger boots all USA made and so far by far the most comfortable boots I’ve worn.

So far pretty good
I purchased the Thorogood Men's Logger Series - 9" Waterproof, Safety Toe Boot. This is my first pair of Thorogood boots. Gave them a try when my previous brand dropped the model of logger I liked and moved production overseas. I've been wearing these for over a year now. They are very comfortable boots, they needed very little break in, they look good, and they are American made. I wear these everyday-all day except Sunday. They are used extensively for hiking, firewood cutting, tree climbing, working around heavy machinery, shovel digging, and just generally anything a ranch/farmhand might do around home and the office in a remote field station. These boots are great, I don't even think about them most of the time they are on my feet. They have worn well, I do regularly treat them with "Huberd’s Shoe Grease" just trying to keep the leather from cracking over the years. My boots typically last well for 2.5 years and then I spend another 6 months or so with holey worn out boots, hoping the shoe grease helps stave off holes in the leather (this is my first time trying shoe grease to help with this issue I've had with other boots). I'll report back when I have fully worn these boots out for a final review. Even the laces have held up longer than a year. Usually the laces that come with my boots wear out before the first year and I end up cutting some paracord to use as laces and those last the rest of the life of my boots. My one nit picky complaint for these boots is that I wish the leather at the heal was thick and stiff. I often use my heal as a tool (clearing brush/branches, bumping metal pins, digging, knocking stuff out of the way, anything, etc.), with my previous boots this wasn't a big deal since they had hard leather protecting my heal, these boots have soft leather at the heal and I've hurt myself a few times, and cursed the soft leather. All said... at this point, I'd buy these again.

Long break in time but worth it
These are great boots, at first I thought I ordered too small but this is real usa leather so be patient and go through the initial discomfort of the break in and be rewarded with very comfortable quality made craftsmanship!

Comfortable
These boots are very comfortable and I had no bad break-in period. They look great too.

Would buy again
Great boots. Fit as expected. Ordered a half size bigger than normal and they are a smidge big as expected. Short break in period. Steel toe rubs big toe at first until broke in. Great boots for lineman that climb poles regularly.

Perform impressively but wear out fast.
I tested these boots over the span of one season as a Wildland Firefighter, and about three additional months working cutting trees/tree removal. I realize they are loggers’. But with the Vibram sole, they stood to be the best combination of boot for the tasks I needed to wear them for. First, I have to say they are some of the best lookin boots I’ve ever seen, and I receive compliments about them frequently. Also, climbing spikes couldn’t pair with these boots any better. They have kept my feet dry and protected very well. On the downside I’m not particularly thrilled with how the boots have weathered in the relatively short time they’ve been in action. Most notably the upper sole of both boots is cracking where they bend at the arch of my foot. Also the left boot heel started separating pretty badly after only a few months of use, and required repair to prevent ripping off completely. All good now, but I have doubts these boots aren’quite as forever as advertised.
