These WHAL clippers have changed the dreaded monthly dog nail clipping into a quick, pinch free, sharp cutting, done in a fraction of the time, dog care event!!!Years ago we had clippers by Miller F… & they were awesome! I recently bought what looked like the same clippers, nice orange handle, etc, however they’re complete junk, they’re too small to fit on my 60# red bone coonhound’s nails. She’s not a huge dog but her nails are large enough that they didn’t really fit in the M F brand and the “nail guard” made the fit even worse. Each “cut” squeezed her nail before the blade would cut it - ouch!After going back to Amazon to look for clippers that might work, I found the WHAL clippers and read the reviews. When I saw these clippers did not have a nail guard, it’s just the clipping blades, I decided I’d give them a try - I’m so glad I did! The first time I used them on my dog, she was sleeping. I was able to cut 2 or 3 of her nails and she didn’t wake up! These blades sliced through her thick, all black nails without pinching or squeezing her nail as it was cutting!!!

Another great product from Wahl! Purchased this primarily for clipping our dogs' dew claws. Everything about this clipper exceeded my expectations.- High quality construction and durable components. Love the safety lock feature to keep the clipper safe and secure!- Nicely sized (see photos), very similar in size to a hand held plant pruner. Not overly large and bulky as some pet nail clippers can be.- Easy to use! Comfortable in your hand with an ergonomic handle and a quick and clean nail clip.A terrific value, too. I highly recommend this product.

I bought these when my last pair from TSC got dull. Wahl uses a higher grade of metal than most other manufacturers, giving them a longer life.

I tried it on my German shepherds nails and it actually cut through pretty good. I just couldn't take the idea of hurting him so I'll leave it to the professionals. Lol... He'd whimper like crazy and didn't want me to hold on to his paw while I cut them. But if your furbaby is cool with it, it's a decent purchase especially for the price.

Hand held: grasp is nice and easy

These nail trimmers work well enough. The cutting action hasn't dulled over dozens of uses, and I've had them for about a year now. Unfortunately the shape of the handle is very poorly designed. There are two pinch points (one near the hinge, and one right at the end of the tool). Almost every time I use these I forget to watch out for that, and when I clip a nail and the clippers snap closed, the skin of my index finger or my palm gets pinched in the plastic handle. I've yelped far more times from these cutters than my dog has. I have another set of cutters that's nearly identical but has a more conventionally shaped handle like a pair of pliers or wire cutters, and they've never pinched me.As a tip, in general these and other nail cutters like them work best when you fully commit and cut the nail with a swift motion. Slowly squeezing the cutters tends to split or fray the nails and makes your pet uncomfortable and needlessly prolongs the process. Just make sure you aren't going to pinch yourself in the handle before you snip.

Hope these last. Spring went bad on my last pair, but great grip and would recommend

These are great and smaller than most. My frenchie doesn't mind these as much as the others I have bought.

I aways try to purchase Wahl items, these have a sturdy look about them, easy to use, very sharp, I like the fact the nail guard isn’t on these, that are very versatile and feel shave to use even on my cats, I was slightly uneasy to use them on my two chihuahuas as they hate having their nails trimmed but I managed OK, I’m very happy with this purchase.
