Candybar taste in a energy/protein bar
I've been trying different protein bars for a while and have noticed that no matter how good some may taste, none can compare to a regular candybar, that is until I tried this one. The packaging looks like another typical energy/protein bar and the actual bar is no different. Everything changes when you pop this in your mouth, you start thinking, WOW this good, real good. The bar consists of 3 layers, a thick caramel like layer sandwiched by 2 very thick chewy peanut buttery like layers. It is chewy with a few tiny peanut bits scattered adding a bit of a crunch here and there but is not tough or chalky. Though there are 3 layers you cannot distinguish them while chewing, it seems like one solid layer. The taste is a very smooth sweet creamy peanut buttery taste with a hint of chocolate in the mix. I would say it is about as sweet as it can be without being too sweet, I found it very pleasing since I dislike bars that are too sweet. It has fairly high protein, my bar came with 14g protein, 210 calories, 8g fat, and 15g sugars. I would prefer less grams of sugar but it does contain corn syrup, high fructose corn syrup, and sugar as its ingredients which all add to such good taste. Surprizingly this bar does not contain any hydrogenated oils, the extremely unhealthy junk that contributes to trans fat. This bar also has many vitamins and minerals most of them being 100% of your daily value. After eating this bar I didn't feel any noticable boost of energy until I played a game of tennis. This bar gave me energy by extending my game time and delaying fatigue not the instant jittery shock of energy you get from energy drinks. This product does not contain caffeine.Quality 3 StarsTaste 5 StarsEnergy 4 StarsProtein 4 StarsPrice 5 StarsOverall 4.2 Stars Very GoodQuality gets 3 stars due to ingredients such as high fructose corn syrup.

Surprisingly Good!
I am not a fan of energy bars. The texture is always kind of chalky and gross. But I received a marathon bar (chewy peanut butter) as part of a swag bag at a 10k I was running. I happened to be really hungry before the race, and figured I'd give it a shot. I broke it half, and was pleasantly surprised by how delicious it was. Chewy and a little crunchy, but really nice texture. I ended up eating the other half. Now I don't know how much it improved my race, but it definitely filled my stomach without a full, bloated feeling. Now I eat one before all of my long runs. Half a bar for up to 10 miles, a full bar for over 10. They used to sell these at my local supermarket, but don't anymore. I bought a hand full of them when I saw they were being discontinued, and still have a few left, but it looks like I am going to have to bite the bullet and buy them online, as overpriced as they are, which including shipping is about $1.50 more per bar than I was paying at the supermarket. Supply and demand, right?

Absurd Price for a bulk buy
I was hoping to find a good deal on these bars through a bulk purchase, but 25 dollars for a dozen is a higher price per bar than just going to the convenience store a short walk away and buying retail (by almost 30 cents per bar). The energy bars themselves are quite good, but don't buy these things for more than 2 dollars a bar.

Great taste and Very filling!
I don't tend to like energy bars or anything like that but a friend of mine got me hooked on these. He started using them when he was training to go to boot camp, he needed to drop some weight, so he worked out and ate these. No matter how hungry I seem to be, if I eat one it'll keep me good for several hours because of all the protein. They don't taste like the typical meal/energy/snack/diet bar either, they actually are tasty! They're a wonderful snack, or a meal replacement if you're running late to work.I tried the other marathon bars, hoping that they would be as good, but so far nothing has compared to the peanut butter! Definitely worth a try.Only draw back is the price, I wish that they were cheaper. When I bought them direct from a local place it was $22, $25 does seem a bit high, especially with shipping, but I can't find them anywhere else around here.
