Awesome robot, My 7 years old got it for Christmas and he build it himself (little help here and there for those littlehands) and played every day ever since. Just that, one may need patience which my son has shown he does. I actually bought 2 for discounted price during the time. It was awesome for that price. The same robot can do different functions with a little change. He is enjoying that part as well.

Good things come to those who wait. Bought this for my son, 10, who is noted for his meticulous nature. He had no trouble assembling it in various forms, without adult assistance. As others have said yes, there are a million and three tiny parts and screws. If you are patient and careful assembling it, then this very much is worth it. If you are looking for a quick throw together then this kit is not for you. Learning the programming wheel has a bit f a learning curve, but the instructions are very thorough (and have a considerable heft for a kit this size). The robot in operation is quite loud, but then it's plastic gears and an exposed motor so this is not terribly surprising.

My 10 yr old grandson loved it. He assembled it, without help, and commented that it was just challenging enough! He’s enjoying exploring its various functions. I appreciate that it wasn’t something that he was done with in a couple of hours. Looks like it will provide some lasting entertainment!

My 8 year old loves this robot. The programming aspect is simple but fun. The assembly is a bit of a chore though. There are MANY pieces which you have to cut out of a frame and make sure that you get all the barbs off so the gears can run smoothly. I’m fairly good at mechanical things and it took me a couple of hours to make sure it was working properly. I would advise having a jewelry making snips tool, small screw driver, and sand paper on hand for the assembly. Those things are not included. If buying this a a gift I would make sure that an adult is prepared to help the kid assemble it.

7 year old grandson put it together without supervision. And, I was impressed with how well it works. Highly recommend.

Elenco Teach Tech Mech-5 | Programmable Mechanical Robot Coding Kit is another great product from Elenco, a company that has provided my kids with more hours of fun and education that I can count! The Teach Tech Mech-5 has many different builds of programmable robots making it something that can be used more than once, making it a good buy for the money. Also, when buying something for kids it's important that the product be durable, and that has absolutely proven to be the case. After my nephew completed his first build he dropped the robot off the kitchen table, and it took the licking and kept on ticking. No issues at all! Overall, I would say this is a great product to help children learn and have fun at the same time. That's definitely a win when that happens! Another great product from a company that has been making quality products for a long time.

For a beginner robot builder, it was more complex. There were a lot of pieces, however; the science of it is educational and fascinating to watch after coding. The building of the robot was more complex than the coding. The coding was the fun part. If you have a lot of patience and a mind for working out solutions and planning, you will love this. If you just want a quick easy build, this one's probably not for you. We were able to program this robot to shoot the ball that it came with. Value for money was good as expected.

This is a very good robot. Not an ordinary STEM project, it makes your child work, think, spend time and effort. Might be a bit challenging but that what it makes it so interesting. Highly recommend for anyone interested in STEM

Easier to assemble than you may first think. The instructions are very good.

This is a nice toy but needs adult supervision to build: a sharp blade is required to remove thd parts from the mould. The way the robot does its job is rather agricultural and the coding .. if it is coding .. is rather basic. But the parts come together well and a little one can have fun with it. Thd best part: it is NOT made in China.
