A Gift for my Nephew
For the last year, my nephew has wanted one thing, and one thing only - an Easy Bake Oven!Because he, his brother, his baby sister, and his parents live with their grandparents (temporarily), it's safe to say that the boys get everything they desire. So it was quite unusual to find out that he had yet to receive an oven of his own.And then we found out why.Living with a very conservative family, gender roles are a big concern for their grandparents. Boys play with boy things, girls play with girl things. God forbid this Kindergartener play with something "girly".My family considered buying a pink/purple oven and painting it a "boy" color, just so we could make him happy. With a little research, we discovered that there was already a "boy" version of the Easy Bake Oven - in black and silver! What other protests could there be, now that the color was taken care of?Oh right, "baking is for girls."Well - not anymore. Thanks to Hasbro, my nephew received the best Christmas gift ever. This product pushes the boundaries of gender stereotyping, and gives little boys like him the chance to enjoy their childhood without being told that what they're doing is wrong, or that doing "girly" things is hurting them. For that, we are very grateful.

4 Year old loved it!
I bought this for my 4 year old nephew. He loves baking at my house. (It's our thing.) He always get so frustrated that he can't put the muffins in the oven or take them out. This was great. He was so excited when he finally figured out what it was. A few things from an adult perspective.1 - Why the fake timer? Pretty sure I would have paid $2 more so he could set the timer himself.2 - You can't see through the front of the oven, so it becomes a "guessing game" as to if your goodies are cooked.3 - Their mix was not very tasty. (The 4 year old loved it, so that was fine with me. At least it didn't go to waste.) But I would say use regular Betty Crocker, Dunkin Heinz, so on. Tastes better and less costly.)Other than that, he loves it. He loved turning it on. He loved putting it in the oven himself and taking it out.I did see some reviews say this was a waste and just use your regular oven. To those people, its a "toy", just like saying why buy another plastic car, or whatever else. It's simply that. A toy.I would recommend it!

Little chef's delight
We got this for our 5yo son who loves to help us in the kitchen. It's certainly a product that requires abundant hands on adult supervision (at least for now) but it's been quite fun to bake together. The treats are microscopic but at least the taste has improved in the past 20+ years. Don't remember Easy Bake of yore being a burn hazard but they've certainly improved the design for this model. No direct exposure to heating elements. I suppose you could push the baked item out the other side too soon but that's what the suggested age (8+) and adult supervision are for. We've only had it for a few weeks but it's a big hit so far.

We broke it out and it was nothing but disappointment. It takes quite a while to go thru ...
LOL - what a joke. My 5-yo son was so excited to be getting this for Christmas. We broke it out and it was nothing but disappointment. It takes quite a while to go thru the process only to get back a teeny cookie the size of your thumbnail. Seriously, you can get that cookie cereal and have the same thing.Save your money, and just teach your kids how to cook in a real oven where they can use those skills in the long run, and receive the satisfaction of having something more than a morsel when done. He's used it twice. Once on Christmas day out of sheer excitement, and once a week or so later to see if it was really as lame is it was on Christmas Day. Yep. This one is done.

my son really wanted one and it is great that they offer it in black so it doesn't ...
We have only used this a few times, my son really wanted one and it is great that they offer it in black so it doesn't feel to girly but it is such a small cooking slot and you can not accidentally go to high on the pan it won't fit through the opening. Which i understand is a safety feature but honestly we probably won't use again. plus the mixes are pricey and again the pan is so small. I feel like the one I had as a child was much better made than these more updated ones.

Great little oven!
I remember the days with my Easy Bake oven....This is the same idea. I love the fact I could by my son an EBO! Thank you for creating a blue one. This product is not something you can let your child use alone, unless they are 8+.I would recommend that you first use the food kits they provide, and then decide it is worth buying more. The kits are easy to mix together, and only make doll size portions. Which I feel is perfecto!Give it try, it is a nice throw back to your own past. And, a fun way your child can bake too.

Exactly as expected
My son is 9 and he wanted this for christmas, it was handy enough to order and all on amazon but the problem was because it was from america i had to get a transformer/adaptor so i could let him use it, luckily after alot of ringing around i got what i needed, the oven is what was expected, it doesnt open you have to load the tray in at the side and then after the cooking time is reached push it out the other side, its very fiddly but exactly what a child would expect, i dont think it would be good for kids under 6 though. and only one sachet of mix comes with this but i will definitely buy a few more sachets for my son so he can get the use out of this oven. the delivery was very quick which was helpful because of the time spent looking for somewhere to get the adaptor etc for this oven.
