True Tupelo honey — one of the rarest honeys on earth. Each spring we move our hives deep into the Apalachicola River basin to catch a bloom that lasts barely two weeks. What we bottle is raw, unfiltered, and unlike any honey you've tasted.

**Q: Is this honey raw and unprocessed?**
A: By industry standard, it is Raw honey. We do strain out anything that is about the size of a grain of sand and larger to make sure the golden, delicious honey is as clean as a whistle :)

**Q: Is this white tupelo honey?**
A: White tupelo is what most people look for . Mostly in mid and upper Florida versus black tupelo that is predominant in Georgia. White tupelo is light in color and will not crystallize. Ask before buying. White tupelo is sweeter than black tupelo.

**Q: Is the honey from Tuepelo Flowers, exclusively???**
A: To educate y'all: Tupelo honey is valuable specifically to Diabetes patients as part of a blood glucose control diet. That honey comes from swamp tupelo trees. Tupelo is not a "gum" tree though some call a variety "black gum". "White" grow in very wet to swampy areas. "Black" tupelo grow in upland areas. Two very distinct and separate environments. It is difficult to keep hives in white or swamp tupelo habitat because of the water or the chance of rain flood. In the natural order flowering plants tend to bloom in offset cycles so the gist is that during the specific blooming period of tupelos, hives located in the near vicinity will produce nominally "pure" tupelo honey. Fun fact illustrating where tupelo trees grow; I fish the small blackwater creeks in Effingham and Chatham counties GA and during the tupelo bloom the little yellow and brown bullhead catfish will have blossoms in their bellies and when the berries fall the little cats will have bellies full of those.

Tupelo honey is my absolute favorite honey. The flavor is mild and it never crystallizes. I had one jar that was pushed to the back of the pantry that my mother in law gave me and it was still crystal free. It did darken some but still tasted great.
