Excellent Product - just read the prep instructions on can
Excellent Product !!! As some customers have written, this product is meant to be a base that you add final ingredients to in order to finish and make it to your own hummus. So if the reviewers that tried it straight out of the can and then complained the taste was lacking had just taken a few seconds to flip the can over and read the preparation instructions titled "TO SERVE", they'd have seen that you should add tahini, lemon juice, salt, garlic, and olive oil to your liking. For me this is what makes the product so great because you make it to fit your dietary needs and tastes. There are so many hummus products out there so this gives you the ability to make it however you choose and the sky is the limit. I personally like a traditional hummus so I add those basic ingredients listed on the back of the can. The consistency of this product is very smooth, which makes the finished product so tasty and, in my opinion, much better than most of the off the shelf hummus products you buy in the store. Plus, the cost is much lower. And last but not least, after adding my ingredients I did the math and my finished hummus is less than 50 calories per serving, which is way less than store bought counterparts that usually run around 80 calories per serving. I'm hooked and am glad I found this excellent product on Amazon!

Canned hummus, it's actually good!
Canned hummus, who would have thought? It tastes great, you can smell the lemon, the taste is good on a sandwich as well. Yes, they are a bit expensive, you can easily make it yourself unless you are beset by kids, or the vicissitudes of life! At least it's good for you, too!

Decent flavor, convenient, but no longer best price
It's hard to find canned or shelf stable hummus, and if you do it's outrageously priced. This was the best deal, and that includes checking other shopping sites. It's a little tangier than I like, but still tastes good. I got used to the tang after a bit, so I'm good. Another positive is the ingredients. It's got water, chickpeas, tahini, citric acid and salt. That's it. So many of the other options have plenty of chemicals you don't really want. I'm happy w/this product and will purchase again. UPDATE: Contrary to what some reviewers are saying you DON'T have to add lemon juice, or tahini. The can says you can add it to taste. You don't have to. It already has all those ingredients, and it's already listed as hummus dip, not hummus starter. My original purchase for this was $16.99, and that was the best price as I mentioned above. However, the price has been raised to $18.99 and that's the same as you can buy it at W-mart, so there's not necessarily a plus from buying it on Amazon.

Super shelf stable, quick to prepare. Great for camping.
Flavor straight from the can tastes like can, but add a little garlic powder and olive oil and it's quite tasty with a good texture. You could flavor it up with fresh garlic and lemon juice but I bought it for camping so kept it simple. If I wanted to do a lot of doctoring, I'd just make my own from scratch.

No seed oils/ taste delicious
Store bought hummus has seed oils not olive oil ( or very little olive oil along with seed oils). This canned hummus has the same taste and consistency as store bought without the seed oils. Just add some roasted garlic, finely chopped sweet onion or spring onions, 7 spice powder and put in a container. When serving you can add olive oil but it is good as is.

Okay product, usually.
Reasonably good product with acceptable taste. I've been a regular customer for a while. Was disappointed with the last batch: each of the six cans was considerably dented. I wrote to the company about it, but didn't hear back from them. I decided to send the cans back, but returns are disallowed for these items.

Meh
I guess it will do in a pinch, but it doesn't taste very good. It did list Tahini on the label, but I honestly couldn't taste anything. Okay for a backup, but definitely wouldn't serve this to guests.

great tasting even straight out of the can
I've been eating these as another one of my sicko struggle snacks/meals just savagely digging in from the can while I'm in meetings or otherwise unable to do much. and it's STILL good--even without the recommended serving of olive oil, tahini, lemon juice, etc.
