OhtoHorizion Gel, Gel Ink Ballpoint Pen 0.5mm Yellow Body (NKG-605H-YL)

Purchased this pen in a bunch of different colors, so that I could use them with my fabric ink when sewing garments. The different colors of ink would’ve corresponded with the external color of each pen.However, I was disappointed to discover that the pen is only compatible with Parker-style refills, not Pilot G2. I even tried cutting the refill as reflected in the photo, it’s still too long and the point is too thick to go through the pen case’s opening. Unfortunately the seller didn’t make the distinction. But in practice when referring to simply “G2” refills, it insinuates the Pilot-style, as it’s common to say, “Parker-style refills” otherwise.Although these pens do not meet my needs, they are well-made. They feel good in the hand, they have good heft / weight. They kind of feel like these Caran d’Ache 849 pens that I have. So it’s a good quality pen that is worth getting, just make note of which refills to get. I read that the writing experience of these pens (the ink and needle point) is a pleasure to use. You just might find yourself switching from your preferred brand of refill.

Great, responsive pen. The Japanese take their writing utensils seriously, and it shows with this example. Has a good weight to it, and comes with two refills. The clicker feels a little flimsy and it rattles when it’s depressed, but it’s nothing to worry about. The gel refills are extremely smooth and do not “skip” like many gel pens. It’s a smooth, solid line no matter how fast you write. I only wish they offered ballpoint refills for it. That’s my main gripe with this pen. I use the Pilot Better ballpoint pens, they’re my all time favorite ballpoints. If these pens had the sort of refills that pilot uses in their Better series, this would be my favorite pen. I just don’t use gel as much as ballpoint. Needless to say, this is one of the best gel pens I’ve ever used.

I really like OHTO pens. I purchased this for a comparison from my OHTO Horizon (with a bolt release) in hopes that it would be a complimentary writing tool with a more traditional ink cartridge. The construction is solid (if light) and has a nice feel to it.Turns out that a gel ink ballpoint flows too fast for my writing style, but that is just a personal concern. I would recommend this to someone who wants a very fine-tip gel ink pen - providing you can find it for a reasonable price.

writes super easily especially for a .5mm pen without bleeding the page at all but I have already noticed a lack of durability after just a week of regular use the click seems to get stuck and some of the paint has already came off but it writes incredibly well

This pen is well made and has great aesthetics. it also fits the OHTO PG-105NP refills, which was the main reason why I bought it. The one thing I don't love about it is a little bit rattly, but for the price I can ignore that.

Enjoy the fine line, the smooth writing tip, and the deep black color. It is also very nice to hold and well balanced, with smooth metal finish.

Parts are poorly fitted. Pen is very "rattlely", and has a generally hollow feel to it.. The Ohto 0.5 gel refills are GREAT in my nose heavy Rotring 600 and RapidPros, though. Also, not yellow enough.

It's a great pen - but not a fair price without the refills
