Meguiar's 7" Soft Buff Rotary Foam Polishing Pad WRFP7 - Professional Polisher for Removing Light Paint Defects and Maximizing Gloss - Foam Polishing Pad for Use with a Rotary Buffer, 1 Count

I have been buffing on cars and boats for over 20 years and have tried every tool, gimmick, polish and spray on the market. Surprisingly to me Meguiar's makes products in almost every category and this is no exception. (Their buffer is not the best but their liquid products are hands down the best)I have the Porter Cable 7424XP and have been using it for a few years. I have to say no matter what foam pad I try they are never even close to being able to remove oxidation from paint or fiberglass efficiently. I have burned up at least 15 of the yellow and orange pads trying to buff out paint so I decided to try the wool.I got the 6" backing plate and some cheap wool pads from Amazon and they were okay but loaded up and turned into a hard clump in no time. I decided to give it one more try and ordered this pad when I was ordering some stuff online.At first it was a plume of wool everywhere what a mess! There was wool all in the wax, all over the car, my clothes, even in my mouth! I thought this was a huge mistake but I kept at it.WOW Okay so once the excess wool flies off the first thing I noticed is that the product does no build up in the wool. It disperses almost completely and the pad does not clump up. The second thing I noticed was IT WORKS REALLY WELL!!!Yes it works like a champ on my 05 black expedition which was pretty bad ...my reflection was almost non existent when I started. It was like a dream - I used the Meguiar's Ultimate Compound and the deep scratches were filled in, the water spots gone, and most of all it was a mirror image looking back at me.Cleaning - First of all there is NO build up you can just run it through with soapy water and rinse out no problem. I expect to get quite a few uses out of this one for once!PROS: Works Really Well!! Does bot build up on the pad and to clean it just rinse it off with some soapy water with your hands.CONS: A lot of wool flies everywhere when you first use it. I would not recommend using inside a garage until the pad is broken in.

This wool pad combined with the Makita is a dream come true. I have never gotten this close to removing defects so fast before. This pad did what the Rupes blue pad couldn’t do when I had combined it with the Rupes rotary….. I highly recommend it. Follow up with soft pad on a DA and work it at very slow speeds so you can remove the marring and the rotary induced swirls. This pad will leave swirls behind that can easily be removed (soft pad with mild polish. work at low speeds) but it will destroy all defects. I ordered another one and this will be my cutting pad of choice from now on. Thanks Meguire

Looks very well made, will be using it this week to see how it fares on some heavily worn paint. Going to pair this with a heavy scratch remover to see if we can get some cheap shine back

Works well to polish and holds your product pretty well. Wool discs are still superior in my opinion.

Am impressed with the total lack of residue buildup on the pad. Keeps itself clean and still going strong.

GOOD PRODUCT

Used just one pad for our 24' Fout Winns for heavy cutting/ oxidation removal and polish. Minimal shedding and held up great. East to clean. Worth the extra $$.

Just as other have stated, you will encounter a lot of shredding before use. However, this is why you spur, spur, spur and use compressed air if you have access prior to even touch your compounding area, it will save you a ton of clean up time. I recently wet-sanded and compounded the hood of my car due to a shop respray. And this wool pad paired with my Hitachi SP18VA rotary put in work quickly.The video depicts a 50/50 of the before and after wetsanding and compounding.
