I think I'm in love. This month I began using the moment I began to feel any type of menstrual discomfort. Slathered it on the entire abdominal/uterine area as well as my lower back. What was different this time? At any moment during first few days of my cycle in which I felt discomfort I slathered it on! Kept a roller bottle in my purse for just that purpose. I continued to take naproxen 2x/day , but did find I had a much easier cycle, dramatic decrease in amount of hemorraghes, and a shorter than normal cycle by 2 days. I'm so hoping and praying I have found an answer to my every 23 days of suffering through day 2 or 3 of my cycle. If you google just the clary sage, you'll find one of the properties is to relax the uterine muscle. Still, the smell does take some getting used to but after awhile it isn't noticeable. I find I like it better with fractionated coconut oil than sweet avocado or jojoba oils.Update to previous review: each time I began to feel some menstual discomfort I brought out my blend and really coated the problem area - I noticed relief within 5-10 minutes. I'd like to believe it was super effective for me but I have to take OTC med 2x/day due to cycle issues. I'll try to review after several months of use. As far as the smell goes, you he used to it.Like others reviews stated, it is a very strong smell - reminds me of licorice (which I dislike). Diluted with jojoba oil which helps with the smell. This is the first month I used and applied over my stomach/uterine area @ beginning signs of pms. I have noticed some lessening of the discomfort felt during cycle. This morning I got my period and like every other time, my lower back and abdomen were in some really bad pain. It was painful to sit in my car, especially stand up to get out. My husband seen my package was here and he drove it to my university (30 minutes away), because he knows I'm in pain. I put a few drops in my hand and rubbed it into my lower back, and the same for the abdomen. (I suggest you use a carrier oil if you don't know the effects of essential oils topically on your skin. I've been using essential oils a very long time and I'm fine doing it without carrier oils). Anyways, I kid you not within a few minutes ALL the cramping went away, all I had was some mild pressure.
