Yes this is a single sided chip.
The computer sees it fine...
After the simple installation...
Go to my computer....Memory..
If your computer only has two Ram slots...It will tell you that there's 0 slots available...and you should be able to see the additional added memory..

**Q: Can it work for ddr3l laptop?**
A: This should work fine in a laptop. Be sure to wear an ESD ground strap clipped to the chassis of the computer. If you are expanding the existing system by adding to the second DIM socket, please, make sure that you have the same part number as the factory original part (this is a lesson I learned a long time ago when I didn't match manufacturer part numbers when expanding a PCs RAM.). This is what I did for my HP/Compaq desktop PC which uses laptop components for power conservation. You may want to check out the processor memory requirements before you make another purchase. Some of the finer detail points about the memory characteristics will have an impact on whether it will work well in your system. If you're going to increase the memory by using both DIMs with larger values (8 MB or 16 MB in each DIM socket) check out the maximum memory requirements for your processor. It would be best to change out and populate both DIM sockets with matching part numbers that are compatible with your processor from the beginning of the process. The increased memory capacity will give you options most people don't have because of limited RAM such as installing a RAM drive.
