NATURAL CHOICE: Sea sponges are one of the most natural and caring ways to cleanse, massage and exfoliate your skin. Sea Sponges are highly absorbent, create a luxurious lather, are softly textured and are suitable for the most sensitive of skin. Sea sponges are more durable and last longer than synthetic sponges because they are more resistant to abrasion. In addition, natural sea sponges are better for bathing and cleaning because they soak up and hold more water without dripping. Natural sponges are self-cleaning through their intricate system of canals. Therefore they wash out more quickly and easily and will not retain objectionable odors. They are softer, clean better and will not peel like synthetic sponges while being used. Natural Sea Sponges can be used for a multitude of purposes: The application and removal of cosmetics, Deep cleansing, Massaging to stimulate the circulatory system and revitalize the skin, and for a luxurious bath and shower experience. Directions: Hand wash with soap before first use. Air dry after each use. Rinse occasionally with baking soda and warm water.

Worried About The Enviroment Where It's Harvested
Honestly I'm not really one to write reviews, but today I felt the need to write two, and this is one of them.I've been using traditional and artificial sea sponges for the past few years, replacing them as needed, so I've tried out a variety. I was really interested when I saw this particular sponge was listed as sustainably harvested ( kinda hard to find on Amazon), and when looking over the listing it seemed to me like the company took pride in caring for the environment where they get their sponges, something that's very important to me. While it seemed like a good quality when I first used it (VERY soft), about 1.5 -2 weeks later it started loosing chunks of itself. At first I thought it was just extra bit of sea I missed when cleaning it originally, but now it's become an almost daily occurrence. I'm kinda worried that there may be something unhealthy with the environment in which it's being grown and harvested. I use a gentle Lush bar soap with it (Respect Your Elders), and don't have overly hard water (I also live near the ocean), and dry it out between each use. I've never had this happen before, even with the grass sponges I've used. Maybe our oceans just need a break. Because this poor little thing... each little pitiful piece that crumbles off each day looks like a painful cry for help.

Huge sponge for price!
I was extremely pleased with the size of this sponge. It is the most reasonably priced for the size I could find.

very soft and very large
We've used this for over a week now and it's been great. Very soft and fits in your hand nicely. So far so good. I might update this review later on when it starts to break apart which I guess is inevitable.UPDATE: The sponge started breaking apart after about 8-9 months of daily use. First it broke into halves. But because the sponge is so big even half can be used. It never completely disintegrated like the much less expensive ones you would normally find at the large chain stores although from time to time a few small pieces does fall off. We bought another one (from Amazon) as replacement but will likely order this one again in the near future.

A waste of money
I used this sponge 8 days and it totally fell apart into shreds. I was replacing a sponge I had purchased in Greece 4 years ago, used everyday, and only replaced it because it wearing out from the usage and cleaning. This was a waste of money. DON'T BUY!

Better alternative to the nylon scrubbers
My wife loves these. More expensive than the nylon scrubbers you can get at the grocery store but they stay fresher longer. Just remember to rinse it and squeeze it dry.
