Finally! Missed the Crabtree and Evelyn sponges so much. Suffered through sponges that fell apart, that got so squishy they seemed almost slimy, ones clearly fakey, or that felt disgusting. This is the real deal! I am so pleased and relieved to finally find a replacement. Yes, a natural sponge is a tiny bit gritty at first; sand and microscopic shells, I think. For my hand size I cut off about 20 per cent at one end to make it the right size for me, even easier to use. I use it in a hot bath each night where it lathers up just right with a good soap, feels terrific to squeeze to rinse off and stream on tight shoulders to concentrate the hot water. Of course you wring it out after use and let it dry (I just rest it on the tub handles and faucet) -- just like you'd wring out and air dry a wash cloth. I've had this about three or four months and see no decline in the quality, no softness or breakage or deterioration so far and no inkling that deterioration lies ahead. If you're used to a real sponge you'll like this.

i did some research on natural sponges before i purchased this and found it to be a very interesting subject. i for some reason thought that 4-5 inches would be larger- that was only in my mind- so i was surprised how small these sponges were when they came- but they are a perfect shower size and go beautifully with a nice french gel body wash. soft and luxurious.i have always wanted one- glad i did my research first, though- you can't use the type they sell in the hardware stores for painting as a bath sponge- they are a different type.

I've been using sea sponges for over 10 years and they are wonderful. They last much longer than man made sponges. However, this particular one I received looked nothing like the picture. Ordering onlilne, you don't have your choice of sponges and they just send anything in stock regardless of texture or how it looks.

I have always used natural sponges and I was a little hesitant in buying this product on-line but I'm very happy that I did. I received my sponges and they were just as the description promised on the website. The sponges feel so good and natural. I purchased two sponges and the sizes were perfect

It was more like 3"-4", but it is soft and lasted a long time.

there are directions to clean the sea sponge. the item description did not explain that preparation is required. it is misleading, I would have rather bought something that is ready to use.

Not sure what I would have coming but this is just what I wanted. It arrived before I even expected so thank you!
