I have used the cable 3 times so far and have had no problems. easy to attach to outlet to breakers as well as to the generator itself. awesome power transfer, have had no dips or surges.

For a small portable home generator cord, which is what I purchased this for, it should work fine. I have also purchased Reliance, Gen-Tran, and Conntek cordsets for similar purposes, and they all appear to be of good quality. In most applications, these cords will see little use, and should hold up fine if stored properly and not subject to abuse. When I am installing an interlock for a customer, I check Amazon to see which of the brands I mentioned above is available at the best price at the proper length. I used to buy the cord ends and the rubber cord to make these cordsets myself, but at the prices Amazon is usually offering these units for, it just doesn't pay. Plus, I like having the molded plug ends rather than the replacement type cord ends.

This is a well made cable with molded connectors. I am using it to connect my generator to a Reliant transfer switch. It works well.

The Generac LP3550 generator does not have a 30 amp plug, it has a 20 amp plug. I always thought it was a 30 amp, so I ordered a 30 amp cord. Shame on me for not looking at the plug.I was able to find an adaptor for the 30 amp to a 20 amp plug. Did my home test yesterday and everything works perfect. This is a good quality, heavy cord I used between the portable generator and the transfer switch. It is heavy, so I've had to use a bungee cord to help hold it to the transfer switch (so all the weight is not on the plug), since it's about 5' off the ground.

Perhaps I should wait until I need to really use it in an emergency, but so far all the testing I have done with my generator and breaker interlock shows that this cord performed as it is supposed to. Easy to lock in to the generator and inlet box, transfers power and seems to be rugged and durable enough for use outside. After getting many estimates from contractors with high material costs, I saved a lot by buying this and other parts on my own.

This was just what we needed. We had purchased the Generac 6294 30-Amp 6-10 Circuit Manual Transfer Switch Kit for Portable Generators and our shed is just a little to far away to reach with the original cord. This one is perfect and made by the same company. Top quality cord and would recommend this to anyone!
