Living in an older house with plumbing to match, we've had our fair share of drain adventures. From leaks to clogs, we've had it all. When we first moved in, I noticed that both the master bathroom and en-suite had slow draining bath and sinks. To the point where I'd keep a sink plunger handy and went and bought a drain snake. Occasionally we'd pour liquid plumber down out of desperation and it would let up, briefly.When a bathroom sink blocked again (when we had guests of all things) and it eventually got too much of a hassle I exasperatedly called in the professionals and sheepishly admitted we'd tried everything including the chemicals. He chuckled and said what I expected - that the liquid cleaners were really not that effective except in certain circumstances. What I didn't expect was his recommendation for this product. After he snaked the drain and pulled out a small sasquatch's worth of hair he advised occasional maintenance with Thrift (once a quarter) would be safe given the type of piping we had.On his advice, I purchased this 16oz pack to give it a try with the other drains in the house that were still running slowly. Reading the instructions carefully I made sure to use a mask and gloves because this stuff is no joke and super alkaline (it's basically lye), and obviously keep out of reach of pets and children - but it works, and it works quickly.There's some contention about whether this is safe to use on every kind of pipe, so you may want to consult a professional before you buy and use it in case it's not safe for your plumbing. Without the recommendation from our reputable plumber I would be hesitant to use this product. Of course, if you use this and end up calling a plumber please make sure to inform them that you used it (or any other chemical) for their safety.The cost of a bottle of this is about 10% of what I paid the plumber to clear my drain. Admittedly, sometimes you need to call in the pro's, but any other time - there's this.

I recently had an excellent results with this drain cleaner recommended by my plumber. This product proved to be remarkably effective and worked quickly to clear a slow drain in my home. Based on my experience, I can confidently say this is the only drain product we will purchase for tackling such issues in the future. I was introduced to this drain cleaner by my property management company. This is the only drain cleaner I use now. I use it in the shower, sinks, and tub. I even used it in my dishwasher! It is easy to use, and the reaction happens so quickly that the clogs practically disappear before your eyes! As it is a caustic reaction- follow the directions and make sure you have ventilation and handle with caution.

Wow, add some boiling water , & watch it go to work. I had a tough clog and after 2 doses of this with boiling water it cleared. Please be aware , once hot water hits product it reacts and erupts, so be careful when using . I highly recommend as it worked for me.

Has a weird smell but i think its been working I've been putting down my sink at the salon every month no clogs yet.

This product is amazing. Super Fast and simple prep. Perfect for cleaning nasty smelling sink drain and unclogging tub that drained slow. Is caustic and produces hydroxide gas so buy/wear gloves and do not inhale product or fumes. I also bought a measuring cup specifically for this and poured boiling water in a separate container than use my tea kettle like you see in videos catching those fumes. It might also pop and gurgle so be mindful of that. Plus be weary of the seller as some will sell tampered/unsealed bottles at the least. Aside from that it's fantastic and does what it says!!! Watch a video, it's really like that in traditional situations like organic materials.

My plumber uses this for clogged drains, and it works like a champ. It doesn't take long to see that it is working, and it's not complicated. Just turn on the hot water to warm up your lines, then pour 1 cup down the drain, wait about a minute and flush.

One of the best quality drain cleaners you can get, without going to a commercial use store.We have used it on our tub and bathroom sink, which can get clogged often because we have a big household. This gets them unclogged every time! We always have some on hand. Great product!
