Fantastic, affordable adapters, but use with care!
Most useful $8 I've ever spent on Amazon. A high-quality adapter that worked even with horrible, cheap, sparky, slightly-frightening extension boards, saving my computer and my professional life while I was working in Ethiopia. I no longer have any of them because I kept giving them away to colleagues and friends; the last couple stayed with roommates when I left the country. NOTE, however, that this is not a step-up/step-down transformer and while some of my appliances kept working through it (!) - electric tea kettle, blender - all of them eventually burned out. Total casualties to my improper use included: - $20 Electric teakettle, after ~6 mos use - in this time it heated water incredibly fast - $30 Immersion blender, after ~1 mos use - $100 Soyajoy, immediately (!) I concluded that the adapter is not safe for electronic appliances like Soyajoy, moderately safe for motorized appliances (though not at all recommended), and much safer for heating-element appliances. (In Europe I think my teakettle would have lasted longer, but in my case I believe a power surge was to blame.) What I did find I could use without problems were my laptop computers - and this is because both of them had internationally-rated converter built into the charge cords. The Macbook is sold with the essentially the same charge cord in the US and Europe, after all - just the end piece plugging into the wall is different - so you can use these adapters with your chargers with confidence. Next time I leave the US for Europe or a European-plug (220v) country, I plan to stock up on these - you cannot have too many!

Perfect for Europe or India + Lots of Gadgets
Perfect for traveling to Europe if you have lots of gadgets that need charging. Very simply, these are great. Six of them means you won't need to beg/borrow/cajole across family members. They work exactly as designed on a variety of different USA-type electrical devices (laptops, iPods, iPads, iPhones, Kindles, camera battery chargers, etc.). If you are going to Europe or India these will be perfect. Notes: 1. These are adapters, *not* converters. These adapters simply allow you to plug in your USA device through the adapater to a wall outlet in Europe or India. Every imaginable electric device seems to work for me. Exceptions: Hair dryers, curling irons, electric shavers do *not* usually work because they don't have a converter built into the USA side of the plug. Things that generate heat or have a motor seem to be the things that *won't* work without a true converter. If you can find tiny writing somewhere on the USA device that indicates voltage range 120-240, then you're good to go with these. 2. I've found that most Switzerland wall outlet plugs are a bit smaller, so if going there would suggest getting ones specifically for there.

Does What I Need it to Do
If you are looking for adaptors, BUY THIS ONE. If you are bringing a three-pronged American plugged appliance (in my case a MacBook Pro) then you need this. It works super well and can be plugged into the wall as well as into an outlet. The picture doesn't show the plug part of the adaptor, but it has the two prongs and a round hole for the wall outlets (if it has one). Fits into any wall even for it's size. I don't have a hair dryer to try it with, but one of my friends (who bought ones without a place to plug in the American third prong) used it for her hair dryer and it worked without over heating. I would suggest the voltage converter for anyone using a hair dryer though, just to be safe. I used it in Madagascar (French system outlets) and it did exactly what I needed it to do. Great price for 6, be sure to bring all 6 of them, you'll never know who else might need to use them.

Round is the Best
I spend 2.5 months a year in France and Spain, and these are the best adapters I have used. The round shape makes them much more stable than some styles. I have only used them on one trip, but all worked well.

Fits the bill
These plug adapters are exactly what they look like, and they do their job well. If you are considering this 6-pack it means you probably have a lot of American things that you need to plug in to EU plugs, and more than likely it's because you'll be living somewhere for a while so aren't willing to get by with 1 or 2 universal adapters and rotating all your gadgets through them. Given that, here is what you should know: These adapters are designed to fit completely into the big, round EU plug, resulting in a very secure connection. The other type of adapter that I use is a narrow, rectangular shape ( American to European Outlet Plug Adapter ). It's smaller, but if you have a heavy US plug in it it can be loose, and if you're using a wall plug it could easily slide out. I would buy these if: * You have many things that you wish to plug in and forget about * Your items have heavy plugs/cords that will be pulling on the outlet * You feel better with the third prong of your plug (the ground) being connected I would buy the smaller, narrow adapters if: * You will be changing location somewhat frequently, so will have to haul the adapters with you * You happen to live in a place that has updated their big round outlets to the small narrow ones (a way to double the outlets, but doesn't appear to common)

Secure fit for EU outlet and your USA appliance
Love these. Have used them for 3 European trips in 18 months. They fit securely in the outlet and them you can easily plug in all of your dual-voltage items--i.e. most phones, laptops, etc. I keep giving them away to lesser-equipped traveling companions, so need more. They DO NOT work in the UK, which has it's own outlet protocol. NOTE they DO NOT step down current for single voltage appliances.

It's a simple thing, but it works just great and you have a whole bunch of them.

Product was as advertised. Charged my external battery chargers, beard trimmer and multiple cell phones at various hotels and airports and never had an issue. Great product and the fact that you get 6 units for the price is an added bonus.

Worked well in Europe. I went to Spain and Italy. I did have a problem once with a harder plug that the adapter just would not go into in Italy and I had to use a different one. But that was an exception, overall good value for a fine product. I liked the price for the amount you get

works well - doesn't overheat. I was surprised after the purchase to receive 6 when I only expected 1!
