My best friend is mechanic and only buys Snap-on tools. Snap on everything. Unfortunately for him, when I bought this it was much cheaper. About a quarter of the price really, and more accurate. Oh, did I mention the temperature goes higher on this laser temp gun than the Snap-on one? I use it to see how hot my furnace is getting when I'm melting metal. The double laser dot system is fantastic! Use your friendly, and accurate as far as I can tell

I am very satisfied with this product. I read the reviews that stated there are some inaccuracy issues, but for measuring my smelting furnace temperature I am fine with not being exact, just in the ball park. It does appear to be reading lower than the actual but if it shows 2100 degrees F and its actually 2200 degrees F I'm fine with it. If you are needing complete accuracy, probably don't buy the least expensive product available. It does what I needed and it's fairly straight forward on the controls. I didn't read the manual I just tested the buttons, a little button pressing works wonders. For the price, if it lasts a couple years I will be more than happy. I would definitely feel confidant buying this again. The only reason for the four stars is it is not accurate but it only seems off by 20 degrees lower which is predictable but I have no way to test it at high temperatures. I did get this up to a 2300 degree F measurement.

This arrived rather quickly. I've used it for years now. (Sorry for the late review.) Works great. Works accurately as far as I can tell. It doesn't burn through batteries fast which is kinda surprising as I don't always turn it off right after measuring temps of my work as I'm either forging, welding or smelting very hot metals and don't have the time to. I've only changed the batteries twice. Display can be kinda hard to see. Stronger backlight on the display would make it awesome! Hope this helps anyone considering this.

I really like this thermometer and it has a lot of features. Easy grip and simple to fire off. The 4 stars are for my learning curve when trying to use this on molten or liquids.

Very good thermometer. Looks and feels very solid and professional. I tested it so far on low temperatures only and it works great. Quite accurate even measuring humans temperature. Repetitive measurements give very close readings. Responsive. Light weighted. Very good, handy and ergonomic rubberized grip. Auto switches off very fast, in about 2 sec. Comes with a fastening carabiner in the handle and a pouch. So, overall very satisfied with this product.

ESTAFA! Apenas la usé el día de hoy por primera vez, estoy tarde de devolverla pero me arrepiento mucho.No sirve. No toma bien la temperatura. Lo compré para medir la temperatura de mi horno de cerámica y marca 300 grados abajo. Lo comparé con otras cosas para verificar si estaba bien o no y el hielo lo detecta a 14 grados y mi piel a 60 grados. Me arruinó la quema!!

This is a decent product with some good features. It appears to be fairly accurate and the laser definitely helps to determine exactly what you are measuring. I'm using it to measure the temperature in a melting furnace and it had no trouble reading the high temperatures (1200c). The longer you hold it in place, you will see the reading shift significantly, but I discovered that a quick reading is more accurate than letting it linger in place.

Great for Raku firing pottery

Tried it on several machines at work. Some read 300F hotter then set another 100F colder. Helped pinpoint the problems we have been having and how to correct them.
