One of the most exciting discoveries of my adulthood.
I had no idea what a really good extension cord was and what it could do until I started using these. For instance, We have an electric Lasko 5812 space heater in the family room that had been just adequate plugged into a Kmart extension cord. After I replaced the old cord with one of these, the heater started putting out a serious amount of extra heat and the extension cord never got hot like the old one did. The heater, itself, started putting out a serious amount of heat that it had never produced before. Consequently, the little space heater warmed up the family room enough that the heat spilled out into the hallway where the house thermostat resided on the wall. I suddenly realized that the outside house air conditioning pump had stopped so I went to the thermostat in the hallway which was set for 72 degrees and it was showing a hall temperature of 74 degrees. This has proven to be the norm now and the air conditioning pump seldom runs any more.Another surprising reality is that the upstairs bedrooms are warmer than they had ever been in the winter. It appears that the space heater is so super adequate now that it is getting enough electricity to do what it was designed to do and is doing it in spades. Now, we have an order to Amazon for 2 more Lasko 5812 space heaters which should, if things go right, make our house practically independent of the whole house heat pump outside and will probably save me huge amounts on my electrical bill.Update: 2/25/2015Received the 2 new space heaters that were on order and also 2 of these extension cords at 10 feet each. Have these heaters working upstairs and downstairs and the outside heat pump hasn't turned on in weeks now but the entire house is extremely comfortable. Can't wait to see what next month's power bill looks like.Update 3/1/2015:Received this month's electricity bill today and what a pleasant surprise! The last month was one of the coldest in our 23 years in this house and the bill was more than $25 less than last month. We owe it all to the use of these power cords and the new Lasko 5812 electric space heaters. No more house air conditioning pump during the winter months!!!Update: 5/3/2015Final episode - Before using these new cords and the electric Lasko 5812 space heaters, my mid-winter electrical bill was almost $300/month. The last 2 months bills were less than $150/month.Owe it all to the use of these great and efficient power cords and the magnificent little Lasko heaters.Thank you again, Amazon, for such great products at a good price!!!

I don't write many reviews..
But these are a solid buy. I hate having to move stuff around cause the chord doesn't reach. I bought 4 of these because I am a DJ and so many chords are only about 4 ft. These are a life savor. I bought the 6 ft. chords and leave them plugged into the existing power chords. That's the best part in my opinion. You just leave them as extensions and forget about them. They haven't gotten loose once and I am always yanking on chords and tripping over things. The female end of them are very secure. Almost have to muscle the other chord in. But that's a good thing. One time I pulled it out of the wall and the chord to chord connection stayed sealed. It's almost water tight (almost, they aren't meant to be submerged haha). These chords are the thickest I have so maybe that can be the only problem for someone, not for me with all the power I pull through them.I bought 4 more 10 ft. for my power tools. This is probably where they shine cause they are heavy duty. The only thing I regret is buying the 6 ft. chords the first time. I always seem to need just a few more ft. and for 2 more dollars you should just buy the 10 ft. onesSimply:Buy these.Heavy duty.Get the 10 ft.You're going to order these more than once. You can never have too many.

Description Contradicts UL Listing - Needs to be Revised
I cannot use the extension cords as described because the UL tags do not support the Amazon description. I bought the extension cords because I needed a short (6 Ft fit the bill) outdoor, heavy duty extension cord for a couple of mini-fountains on a timer which will draw power well below the maximum rated usage. The actual cords look and feel as they should (16AWG) for a heavy duty extension cord, and I have no quibble with the quality. The question is can the cords be safely used outdoors even though they lack the proper UL use description? The standard warning tags "DO NOT REMOVE THIS TAG" (pictures attached) (and, yes, I'm weird because I do read the tags and user guides--when provided) say "A Cord Not Markd (sic) For Outdoor Use Is To Be Used Indoors Only. See UL Label For Outdoor Marking." The implication being (love seeing the hand of an attorney/risk management) if you chose to ignore the tag's warning, any unfortunate outcome will be all yours to deal with. I just like knowing I'm not inadvertently misusing a piece of equipment that could harm me and mine, and I don't like messing with electrical stuff because I find it unforgiving. Zapped is zapped. UL has all kinds of usage ratings including outdoors, damp and wet. There is nothing I found that indicated I could safely use the extension cords outdoors where they may be exposed to damp (like humidity--mini-fountains, folks) or wet (what happens if the wind blows water from the fountain over the cord?).I've emailed the seller asking about the discrepancies of the description versus the UL tag, and I think it will be a case of correcting the Amazon description and the extension cord not really being an outdoor cord after all. =( Back to the hunt, or more correctly, find a cord with the assurance courtesy of the UL listing that can actually be used outdoors.

A life savior
I recently bought a brand new range. The cord was to short to reach the electrical outlet. I was very upset and nervous. I have never experience anything like this before. So, I started doing my homework research. Of course, I always start with and end up at Amazon. I chose Solid Cordz. I read the description of the item and what it could do for me in the situation that I was in. I then read the reviews of other customers. So I decided to give it a try. When I received my package, I noticed right away that black cord thickness was the exact size as my refrigerator. Already I was so so happy, I placed the range plug into the Solid Cordz, then into the electrical outlet. All I can say is beautiful, everything is working wonderfully. Thank you for this product and the price was excellent.
