This Thing Is Awesome!
I did not have high expectations for what I paid for this Megaphone, but I was pleasantly surprised! This thing works perfect! I am a firearms instructor and therefore use this megaphone while on the shooting range to give firing instructions. I bought this because I found myself destroying my voice trying to shout commands at students who were wearing hearing protection. This megaphone is plenty loud at only 50%, and the included detachable microphone works awesome. It is kind of beefy (heavy) but you get used to it as long as you use the included neck strap. It takes "D" size batteries and lasts about 8 hours of continuous time. I have used it for 3 classes now and have not chnaged the batteries yet with no problems.CONS:1. The included microphone does not have anywhere to attach it to the megaphone when not in use.2. It's kind of heavy, but if you use the neck strap it is tolerable.PROS:1. The Price is excellent!2. The quality of this item is great, made of good materials and is solid.3. The range of volume is spectacular. It can go very loud.4. Included microphone works flawlessly.5. Includes a jack so you can plug in your iphone or mp3 player.VERDICT:I would buy this again and again all day every day and maybe even twice on Sunday.

Great megaphone great price
Just what we needed for our party. It is very loud and the alarm/siren is awesome. Gets the crowds attention. The only downside is the music button just makes a terrible screeching noise when a source is not plugged in.

Poor build quality.
Its build quality is low, it literally feels like a toy. It's sound quality is low as well. It's probably fine for a one time event, but not for regular use. To be fair, at this price it's not too bad.

Should have trusted the 1-star reviews
This was my fastest Amazon return ever. That's obviously not a good thing.I would consider myself an avid megaphone user. By "avid megaphone user," I mean that I have owned one other megaphone in my life. But I used the hell out of it. Me and my megaphone - well - we were inseparable. She was the Bonnie to my Clyde. The ying to my yang. The exclamation point to my exciting sentence. The K.I.T.T. to my Michael Knight. Camping, boating, softball games, work events, cheering on the sidelines at the Boston Marathon to provide that extra motivation to help exhausted runners get up Heartbreak Hill. Yep, our time together was special. We sure had a great run ... sorry, I'm getting a little choked up reliving these memories. Now keep in mind that this megaphone was a silly birthday present from a friend. It was bought off of a joke/gag gift website. I think it was only 20-watts, and under $20, but it was well made and lasted me several years. It lasted through being dropped, kicked, tripped over, and left outside to deal with every single one of the sometimes-mild/sometimes-harsh New England elements. One too many times, apparently. But it refused to die... that is... until it died. Bottom line: I had a good one, so I know what a megaphone is and what it should do. Pyle should be ashamed to call this PYLE of cr*p a megaphone. It's junk. I should have believed the other 1-star reviews. Shame on me.The reality is that it's an inconsistently made product. This is why there are so many 5-star reviews who say it's great. Those people received properly constructed products. But it's also why there are so many 1-star reviews (now including this one). The B-Team was obviously in the shop making megaphones the day ours were made. So, if you want to roll the dice for $24, go ahead. But don't act all surprised if you get it and it doesn't even work out of the box like mine. 6 fresh batteries and no workie. Not even a little. No red light. No siren. No amplification. Nada. Zip. Zilch. And remember, I know how to work a megaphone - my experience is well documented in the paragraph above. OK, back to you. Also don't act surprised if you get it and it works right away, but then stops working for no good reason within a short amount of time, as so many other reviewers can attest. You'll only have yourself to blame. And then you'll be in the same position as I am right now. Clicking through the online return process, printing your return label, and wondering how much effort you should put into your product review.

Loud and powerful
Works well. Loud. I like this particular model because it runs on bigger D cell batteries which can provide more power than C cells. Tons of features. Great value. The Bluetooth setup was a bit difficult to figure out, but it works great now. I use my smartphone to play sounds through it. The instructions need improvement. The membrane covering the buttons was coming off and I had to tape it down.
