I have thick hair and I like to do choppy, shag-style haircuts. When my layers get to a certain length, parts of my hair look and feel way bulkier than I want. My advice - cut small sections while your hair is dry so you can see the results as you go, take your time, and know when to quit. If you do all this, they're pretty forgiving. I still go in to my hair lady once in a while when I want to start fresh and need the top layers really shortened, but these are a total lifesaver and have probably saved me like $300 in haircuts, using them every couple months. I even fessed up to her that I've been using them, and she wasn't mad and also didn't say I'd messed up or anything. So we'll call it a win.
