Great for heavier guns
I bought this to use on my 16" DSA FAL carbine, and also a 21" barrel FAL G1. I don't know if you've ever carried one around, or ran drills with one, moving cover to cover and shooting...well, it gets prettyheavy. Attachment to your weapon is by means of the sling passing through your attachment points, then looping to itself and weaving through a couple of slide buckles. The sling itself is easily adjusted to length with a pull tab that is pretty much located midway up on your weak side (that's where mine is anyway). To tighten up the sling, pull down (forward) on the extra sling material. To loosen it up again, pull on the toggle string to release the latch and move your weapon away from you. There are YouTube videos of this to help you out. The padding is very nice, not too thick to be bulky but thick enough to make heavy things comfortable to carry. I had to add a VTAC fixed stock sling attachment so I can carry my weapon in a patrol position without it flopping over, because the FAL only has sling mounts on the bottom.Overall, I really like this sling because of its easy adjustment, nice padding, and excellent quality. If you're in the market for a really nice, high quality 2 point sling for your heavy weapon you should really check this one out.

One Sling, Many Configurations. LOVE it.
I probably own 30 rifle slings, most of them of the 1-point, 2-point and 3-point "tactical" flavor. The "padded" VTAC MK2 is now my personal favorite. I have 8 of them now, 4 black and 4 OD. Once you get used to operating the sling's rather innovative quick-adjustment system, reconfiguring the sling to suite your "here & now" needs is a simple, intuitive process.I'd encourage you to visit the Viking website and view their online demo videos to see how quickly and effectively an operator can transition their firearm to and from various carry positions. The quality and workmanship on these slings are impeccable, with smooth webbing, solid stitching and heavy-duty hardware end-to-end. I happen to like (and use) Viking's Quick Release Extension as well, which enables you to quickly DQ the sling should the situation so require. The VTAC MK2 is now my "standard sling" on shotguns, carbines & rifles. I wish they had something like this "back in the day" when I had to carry M-16s and M-60s for hours and days at a time.Do yourself a favor and try one. You many never use any other sling thereafter.

The best slings you can buy.
I ordered the multi cam version. I was worried about getting a knock off due to the previous reviews people made but the one I got was legit Viking Tactical. The way I know is because I already had one in coyote brown from several years back that I bought in person and it’s the exact same quality and finish as the older one. I don’t think these other people even know what they’re talking about. These are the best slings on the market in my opinion. They are incredibly durable and very practical for everyday use whether hunting, serving up some freedom abroad, or on the beat chasing perps. Yes they are expensive but they are worth the dough if you can cough it up.

It's alright
I wanted a padded sling for a precision oriented 308 AR that was struck by the obesity epidemic, but this is a couple feet longer than necessary. The padding isn't very thick or rigid. There's a good chance I'm going to end up cutting and stitching it myself to make it better suited for what I need. The quality isn't bad, but there are a couple threads that weren't trimmed around the ends of the padding, and some of the stitching wasn't great. That is the reason for 4 stars instead of 5. The unpadded version is one of my favorites.

Great sling for most length rifles
I love the fast adjustability of this sling, and the comfort of the padding. It works perfectly on common size rifles and carbines; but might be a trifle long on an SBR or braced pistol, especially if the forward sling mount is closer to the action than towards the muzzle. It's still workable; but you will want to cinch up the attachments as much as you can on both ends. If you train with a plate carrier, you won't have any issue at all, as the plate carrier will eat up some of that slack, and the fast adjustment will let you find the sweet spot right away.

What you need.
Easy enough to use. you will need to train and practice with it to be fluid. I like to attach a length of cord to the adjuster of mine to make it easier to grab.

Very solid!
Keep in mind this has only had Bench rest range use so far. No tactical gun course yet. My last real long term sling use was a Blackhawk 3-point sling during my tour 09-10. The quick adjustment buckle works well and moves fast, and is a well made metal part. The padded part seems well stiched and I can imagine this would be comfortable using for 8 hrs if you needed to. The buckles are a very stiff plastic but they are doubled up for a total of 6. I took three of them off. But I don't use this for "work" so I didn't see the need to keep them on. I can't forsee them failing. I like it so much I bought a second one.

VTAC Excellence
Man this sling is awesome! Buy it, have some fun sizing and feeling it out, and enjoy the quick adjust feature as you transition from position to position.I highly suggest mounting it over the top of the stock and looped through the stock itself, not QD. It make transition to shooting around objects (i.e. switching from right hand to left hand) without choking yourself out possible. Bravo to VTAC for not only recognizing this challenge, but designing a solution to address it. Hands down my favorite sling.
