Feasts and parties you host can have a new center of attention once you start molding your own butter with this wooden butter mold. Make cute lamb shaped butter by simply putting butter in the mold and squeezing both sides. So simple, so ingenious. Start your own tradition of butter molds just like they still do in Poland. This butter mold is especially nice for the Easter and Christmas celebrations. Please be sure to rinse this item well as sawdust might still be present in this authentic Polish creation. Box measures approx. 4.5" W x 2.5" H x 1.5" Depth Butter Mold Instructions: - insert dry and assembled mold into a freezer for 30-40 minutes - remove it from the freezer and fill with softened butter (Optional step: Prior to filling with softened butter, lightly coat the inside of the form with cooking oil or non-stick cooking spray.) - place into freezer for another 40-50 minutes - carefully open mold by wedging a butter knife into the cutout - delicately remove frozen form - Clean the mold with water and mild detergent. Do not soak the item when washing. Item is not safe for use in dishwasher - Towel-dry the item or allow the item to air dry. Please note: it is important to allow air flow to reach all sides of mold. If one side is left wet while the other sides dry, warping could occur. If the mold warps, wet the side that warped and place mold on its opposite side to correct the mold's shape.

A lovely addition to the Easter table
This mold takes about 1.5 sticks of butter (aka 12 T or 3/4 cup) per whole lamb (two halves stuck together). It can be a pain, but if you follow careful steps, you will have a lovely little butter lamb to put on your table. Here's how I do it: I soak the mold the day before in cold water (don't know why, my mother did this so I do it now, too). I dry it off and spray it with Pam, then spackle softened butter generously on each half of the mold. I stick the two halves together and rubberband the mold tightly before freezing circa 2 hours. Usually one half of the mold comes off pretty easily, but the other half can be tricky to dislodge. I have found that a hot knife (just dip it in hot water and then dry it) usually works well; run it along the edges of the mold and slip it in as far it will go, applying pressure to wiggle the lamb out. Sometimes pieces, especially from the head, stay stuck in the mold - just get creative with soft butter to mold the shape in place or "glue" any errant pieces back on.We usually give the lamb a little boxwood leaf tail and ears and a tiny little currant nose and eyes. So sweet - a lovely addition to the Easter table.

BAAAAA
I bought this for a book club meeting of Far From the Madding Crowd which featured a lot of sheep and lambs. I made two lamb butters and then used the wooden pieces as part of the center piece. I also used it for Easter. Fun purchase!

Works great.
I bought this product to make a lamb butter for Easter dinner. I tried it a few days before dinner to make sure the butter was going to come out like a lamb properly. Well, it did not. I then called the company and was told to either place celophane or oil inside before adding the melted butter. Once I did this it worked like a charm. I recommend this product.

Plan ahead---find a plastic one
My plastic mold cracked after 30 years of use. I read the reviews on this, however, I really had to have a mold for Easter basket blessing. After three practices , including 2 with a plastic lined mold, I finally got a mediocre mold. Definitely not worth the money!

Just like Bushka's Lamb
Just like Bushka's Lamb that she used every Easter and Christmas. My sister would love this, maybe I'll buy one for her too!

Easter family fun!
Works great with just a little Pam sprayed in mold before you fill it. If you freeze a little longer it comes out perfect!
