Instant Pastry Creme Filling Mix

Cannot for the life of me find a simple, authentic Boston cream pie, which my husband always wants for his birthday. This year's solution was to make it but I was intimidated by the custard filling. As always, Amazon was there to help. This stuff is awesome. Tastes delicious - not too sweet and with a nice vanilla flavor. The only thing is that there's no indication of the yield. I added the water and cream as instructed and when I beat it, it grew until it completely filled a large bowl - enough for at least three Boston cream pies. Now I know why it's so expensive - the price isn't bad when you account for how many desserts you can make with one bag. Lesson for next time, because there WILL be a next time.

Delicious, creamy pastry filling. I used it on my Birthday cake the last week of June. I love Boston Cream Pie; I bake a yellow cake from scratch, leave out to cool, while I prepared pastry filling ahead of time to chill. Then after the cakes are very cool, I slice through the middle of one 9 inch cake, put on the delicious pastry cream; melt the best dark chocolate over a double boiler, until very warm, then I pour in warm heavy cream, let it reach room temperature, pour over chilled cake, Wa lah, beautiful ganache, delicious, easy Boston Cream Pie!I highly recommend!carolintallahassee

I think that the Pastry Cream Filling Mix arrived to me in fine condition.I was not aware of this, but I think that there is an 'art' to making Pastry Cream Filling, though. I tried to make the Vanilla Cream Filling, and the result for me was that I made probably Vanilla Pudding.I did some on-line research and found some articles suggesting techniques to use to ensure that you are making it.

This is a great cream to fill pastries or any kind of desserts are working on the flavor is wonderful you can always add a little extra vanilla or Rum flavoring to add that extra something to it but it's perfect just the way it is I'm so happy about it

The cream was so-so. I wasn’t impressed. Tip: use immediately after mixing because after it stands in the fridge, it ‘jelly-fies’ and becomes hard to spread.

Taste great, save time without giving up quality. Have purchased this ,after trying other brands from Amazon and local stores, product several times. I would recommend.
