Does the job!
Nu-Salt is an excellent sodium-free alternative for anyone looking to cut back on salt without giving up flavor. It dissolves well, works nicely in cooking and at the table, and provides a clean, salty taste that's surprisingly close to regular salt. While there is a slight difference in flavor if you use a lot of it, I found it blends into most foods very well. Overall, it's a great option for anyone following a low-sodium diet or simply trying to make healthier choices.

Appears not to have any additives, it's just potassium chloride.
I don't know how to describe the flavor. It seems different from the regular salt we're all used to, but it is salty. I actually I purchased it to use in DIY electrolyte mix not as a salt substitute, but it does taste salty so if purchasing as a salt replacement might work well in food if you don't have potassium issues. I chose this Nu-Salt brand and it appeared to be just potassium chloride with no additives such as anti-caking agents. It comes in those sort of round cardboard type containers with the plastic top that rotates for sprinkling or pouring out of container and these are a smaller table top version, which is perfect for me as I won't be using it much. Some didn't seem to be able to find the potassium content, it's 656mg per 1/4 teaspoon or 1.25g which they say is 15% of the recommended daily value for adults. The container may not keep it from caking in humid weather. As with all things, use in moderation. UPDATE: At my last annual exam my systolic blood pressure was high. I had the thought it might be the sodium level in my food/drinks. I was talking electrolyte pills as I tended to cramp after heavier physical exercise. I decided to try Nu Salt in my foods. It has a bit of an after taste. I then tried it with some Himalayan salt and it was as a better combo though there still was a slight aftertaste. My blood pressure though is greatly improved cutting down on sodium so if you have that problem try the Nu Salt, but go easy on it because of the aftertaste or if you can try going without any kind of salt might be better. I made DIY electrolyte powder to control the sodium in it. So far so good, no cramping and my blood pressure remains good. Happy camper!

Good salt alternative
Good for folks that have high blood pressure (talk to your doc of course). I switched over from salt and use this to add to food as well as cooking with it. IT does taste a little different than salt. If I was to venture a guess in to how it tastes different, I'd say it tastes juicier(?) than salt. Four stars since if it is anywhere near moisture it turns into a block. The Morton's brand does not.

Great salt substitute
Tastes just like salt, great for those told they shouldn't eat salt.

Made eating enjoyable again
I had been on a nearly salt-free diet for 2 years for health reasons. Having grown up being a salt lover, food now was very bland. All the "salt substitutes" are not substitutes for salt, they are merely a bunch of seasonings to, I supposed, distract you from the fact that there isn't salt in your food. They just added a bunch of flavors I didn't want. I resisted trying potassium chloride because I always heard it had a bad taste. Finally I decided I'll never know for myself unless I try it. I bought this product and it was a game changer. I didn't find it objectionable at all. Almost exactly like salt. It may have been slightly "harsher", but the salt satiation it provided well outweighed that. I was thrilled from the get-go. Before long I couldn't even tell the difference between this and real sodium chloride. I've been using it for about a year now.

Tastes great but not full
The salt is great, Taste is same as any other potassium chloride. I know this is sold by weight but only filling the containers about 40% is very deceiving.

Nu-Salt Sodium Free Salt Substitute - pack of 3
Taste isn't all that bad, but getting it out of the shaker could be a full time job. Within just a couple of days, the salt substitute was clumping up so badly that it was time consuming just to get it out of the container! After about a week, it clumped up tight inside the container and I gave up - I trashed all three containers and chalked it up as a lesson learned!

Great Source of Potassium
Using this is a great option if you’re looking to increase your potassium intake. The taste is similar to salt but does not replace salt IMO. I like to use a bit of each on my food.

Great substitute for regular salt! It adds a nice salty flavor to food without the sodium and is easy to use in everyday cooking. A little goes a long way, and I’m very happy with it.

Never knew saltless salt was a thing! And it legit tastes like salt
Wow salty! First time trying saltless salt! To sprinkle on popcorn and salt free nuts, etc I don’t add any salt to cooking but I’m sure it’s fine. Pros: it’s very salty tasting! Great expiration date Cons: this is not brand specific but watch your potassium intake!!! Delivered July 6th 2026, expiration date Oct 22 2028 Shipped by Amazon Sold by Witz. Kept and using

Kind of tastes like salt
Although it arrived quickly and wrapped in plastic, the “non salt” was clumpy and didn’t shake out well The flavour was a little disappointing but that’s toning from a saltaholic who should know better
