Epicurean Kitchen Series Cutting Board, 8-Inch × 6-Inch, Nutmeg

We had bought some plastic cutting boards a couple years back, but after learning more about microplastics since then, we decided we should switch the plastic boards out. At the time we thought plastic would be more sanitary than wood, but research shows that's not correct.This compressed cutting board is awesome. Lightweight, sturdy, and since it's Epicurean, we know it'll hold up for a longgg time.A little tip: we put a wet paper towel folded over underneath the board to prevent it from slipping while in use. A trick we learned from a cooking class that used these boards! Have heard some shelf liner may also work but haven't tried that yet.

These are great. Good quality, super hard, but kind to my high-end knives, hand-wash or dishwasher, no warping. Black looks classy. Slippery on my marble counters, but i'm getting used to it.

I had many different wood cutting boards even fancy ones and i kept replacing them because no matter how well i took care of them they cheep and start having dents which is impossible to disinfect and i can never put them in the dishwasher. I bought this unique cutting board two years ago wondering will it make a difference, but ho boy I was wrong not only I put this one in the dishwasher as many times as I want and nothing happened, every time I have a few knife marks from cutting I take a scotch pad scratch it and it's like new!!! The main reason I picked this cutting board is it is not plastic. The size is large enough to cut, chop, or dice your items. It is easy to clean - into the dishwasher.

My wife bought this to move away from our polypropylene cutting boards, and microplastics getting into our foods. As I look at our plastic cutting boards, I'm glad that they aren't very worn--I can't have eaten THAT much cutting board plastic! Now I'll be eating tiny amounts of paper. This cutting board is nice and hard, flat, and diswasher safe, which is convenient. Unfinished wood cutting boards, with minimal gluing, aren't dishwasher safe, but they ARE naturally anti-bacterial. Maybe I'll make some.

Happy with purchase, feel and see difference when using knives on this surface. Larger size a must for me..

I read a lot of reviews and watched a few online videos before taking the leap and ordering this. As soon as I unpacked it, I was hit with the pungent stink of formaldehyde. My mother had warned me that the “natural” materials were treated with chemicals to preserve them for consumer type use, but I thought that surely the smell was the packaging or the warehouse, so I kept it for a few days to air it out after washing it really well according to directions. Well, I should’ve listened to my mother. The smell only got worse when the board was wet, and didn’t fade at all. I tried to use it to cut up a cucumber one time. Once the knife made contact with the board, it left scratches and gouges even though I wasn’t pressing hard at all. The immediate breakdown of the board’s integrity combined with the smell was just too much for me. I returned it immediately after. Please don’t believe the hype. Stay safe. Trust your mother.

This cutting board is a great product. It performs just as advertised. I highly recommend it.
