It pains me to give 5 stars, only because I cannot give 6. So many compartments and pockets I lost a cordless mouse twice. Which is a good thing. Great to keep things organized. Outside pockets for things you want to get to quickly without opening the bag and plenty of room inside. I've not had it long but it looks and feels sturdy. Great looking bag, very sharp. But the bag alone isn't worth a 6 star rating. My bag arrived without a shoulder strap, which is the whole reason I wanted a messenger bag. I sent a message to the seller on Thursday night, figuring I probably wouldn't hear anything until the next day if not the next week. I had a response in 2 hours at 10:00 that night, and a whole new bag, with strap, at my door Monday afternoon. And they suggested I just keep the first bag since if I returned it to Amazon it would just go out to another buyer who'd have the same problem I did. Great communication and responsiveness. Highly recommend the bag and seller both.

i waited a long time and shopped around a long time for a new bag. this one is sturdy, well made and i am very happy with the overall quality. At this price point it is a no-brainer. Highly recommend.

This is a nicely made, huge bag with ton of spaces for gadgets. It has fancier look and enough pockets for multiple purposes. I tried to summarize positive and negative of this bag to help someone who is looking for similar bag. Pros, This is a huge bag. In the picture you can see I put my 17" Dell precision Laptop, its not perfectly fit but I could zip up easily. There are hardly any bigger laptop in the market for consumer so I do not see size is an issue for any laptop up to 16". Metal clasp and zip make it quality product. Having couple of bags unusable by broken zipper, I cant stress how much I adore metal clasp, buckle and zipper. Cloth is rugged, you have to less worry about to throw bag on table. Lots of pockets for pen, laptop, notebooks and few other items. Can be carried for different purposes. Comes in multiple colors but I preferred coffee color. Its beautiful than in pictures. Even I like this bag so much there are still few places it can be improved. Cons, Base can be leather. Having so nice design and quality finishing. I think it would be better to have the base made of leather rather than fabric. I think that would be weak link for the overall nice bag. Scratches easily. I scratched deliberately on the pic to show how easy to scratch and how ugly it looks. With the heat gun you can polish like a new again but its little annoying. Overall I am happy with this bag, can be carried as a briefcase, shape retains well, at top I thing metal foil is used to make shape. can be used as a messenger or cross body bag. Wide strap make it comfortable. Little heavy compare to similar bag but not by that much. Metal and rugged design make it premium. It is advertised as water repellent I did not test it but clearly see wax polish on fabric so have no doubt about it. Recommended.

Nice looking and sturdy

Note: this is an on-receipt, preliminary review! I picked this messenger bag after buying and then returning a very similar bag from NEWHEY (their 15.6in bag with same basic design - which looks like the one they compare against in the photos). I had returned that Newhey bag mainly because its magnetic button-snaps would easily pop open whenever I picked it up by the carry handle under a normal load. It was also lacking any pocket that could be accessed without opening the whole bag. This messenger bag from Manificent fixes both those flaws - instead of magnetic buttons it uses spring-loaded buckle inserts - easy to quickly open or close, but won't just be pulled open by normal loaded weight. Also, this bag has a zipper pocket on the back exterior of the bag, which is good for any (slender) items or small documents you may want to access quickly. (Note - the exterior-back pocket will not hold a flat 8.5x11" letter-sized document or file folder - it's not deep or or quite wide enough for that - but will easily take letter-size sheets folded in half, small journal, mousepad, etc.) Padding for laptop compartment is good, 15" laptop slips in effortlessly. There's another zippered pocked inside the main compartment on the front side (about 7x6" pocket) - which is easier to get to than the comparable zip-pocket on the Newhey which was behind your laptop. Plenty of room in main compartment on the other side of the padded laptop divider for books, file folders, tablet, accessories,travel sundries, or even a change of clothes for a non-winter day-trip. Quality of construction on *initial* inspection appears to be good, but I've seen a lot of bad reviews on similar style bags where they're good on arrival but start falling apart after a couple of months of use. I'll come back and update this if I run into any problems in the next 60 days or so. If you are considering the similar Newhey bag, or any other similar bag in this price range, get this one instead!

Ordered this for a friend's birthday, but I was actually pretty surprised by the overall quality and finishing of the bag itself! There are a ton of leather bags on the web, but there were fairly promising reviews and photos for this particular one. I wasn't too sure about the horse leather (similar to saddle leather) or the photos of an elderly man whittling away, but my friend was overall pleased with the bag - and he has pretty good knowledge in regards to leather bags. Came packaged nicely with a strap on the side if you want to wear it on your shoulder. Bag is a nice faded brown color with two clasps on the outside. Once you open up the bag, the contents are protected by another zipper. There are 15 total pockets allowing you to stuff all sorts of papers, iPads, etc. inside. The interior is made of a different material and the bag has a slight odor that goes away after several days. They recommend using a bit of wax on the zipper, which I might look into - you can tell that the zipper isn't the smoothest pull and sometimes gets stuck every so often. I'm also not the biggest fan of the material of the outside of the bag - if you accidentally scratch it or make a mark, it does leave a faded marking. The bottom of the bag looks pretty sturdy, but my friend has some heavy laptops and decided against using this as a laptop bag. I think it's great for holding files and documents and paperwork, but I personally wouldn't put anything too expensive just in case. So far he's been using it for several weeks and it's been working out great!

It lasted just under two years. I like the style. The canvas is great. It has almost too many pockets. However, the stitching is not robust enough for the job this bag is meant to serve. At the one-year mark, the stitching on the handle gave way. I fixed that with a screw and covered it with tape. At the 1.5 year mark, the stitching on the flap started going. It's almost unusable now. One additional frustration, the buckle on the strap slips, so I am constantly synching it back up. It's a $50 bag, so I might have set .y expectations for durability too high.

Update 8/27/25: I love this bag and stick to pre previous review but last week the strap broke in an irreparable spot. So instead of a slung messenger bag it is now a briefcase, which isn't the most convenient but it is what it is and straps are replaceable. Keep an eye on the shoulder strap buckle as the swivel retainer broke off and the snap no longer stay in the buckle. Could be stress, could be quality, could be the wind, but it's not a HUGE deal as replacements are made, they just don't match well. Maybe seller will replace? I’ve had the brown one for about a month now and I love it but want to be transparent about a few things. My specific one must have sat for a bit in storage because the leather was thirsty and the wax on the canvas needed a touch up. That said, even dried out it holds my laptop, tablet, chargers, earbuds, notebook, small textbook, pens, and other miscellaneous junk without issue. The bag seems sturdy, the strap clasps are robust, and the flap snaps (while very different than I’m used to) are heavy and secure. Keep in mind waxed canvas is a bit stiff and gives fabric a sort of faded look. I used Otter Wax Fabric Wax to replenish its finish and protection. While I used a leather conditioner on its straps to bring it to what you expect it to look like.
