RhodiaHead Stapled Pad, No18 A4, Dot - Black ("8 1/4"" x 11 3/4""") (18559C)

This is by far my favorite writing/doodle tablet. I love writing on the paper. It's smooth, so my favorite pen glids effortlessly on the surface. The ink doesn't feather or bleed through to the other side. The binding allows me to keep the pages in order, but doesn't get in the way of hand movements. The dot grid is just light enough to see, so its not intrusive. This tablet makes writing enjoyable again.

I didn’t worry about paper quality until I decided to buy a fountain pen. This was after I saw Jeff Rubin's interview with Brad Dowdy in the July/August issue of "mental floss" magazine. Dowdy runs a podcast called "The Pen Addict". The article was mostly about pens (of all kinds), but he also recommends Rhodia paper, saying "If you can find quality paper, it's going to make crummy pens write better, and vice versa.”So I bought a fountain pen from a brand Dowdy recommended and bought this tablet of unlined Rhodia paper. Wow – was he ever right! This paper is beautiful. It is smooth and uniform, and lovely to write on. It looks a little shiny, but it is still accepts ink nicely. And the paper is thick enough that, even with a fountain pen, there is no bleed through.I've attached a customer image showing a sheet of this Rhodia paper with writing by a fountain pen on both sides.In addition, and this is no small thing, a sheet of paper tears out of this tablet neatly and beautifully. Whether it is a matter of the paper quality or how the sheet is perforated, or both, it is much easier than your average tablet to tear off a sheet of Rhodia paper without missing a corner.FYI, here’s the pen brand Dowdy recommended, TWSBI, a Taiwanese maker of high-quality, good-value fountain pens TWSBI Mini Clear Fountain PenThis is extraordinary paper. Having used this pad for the last 3 years, It's easy to say that this is a great quality pad. I'm partial to Pilot v5 on the surface of this paper, but truthfully, any writing instrument feels wonderful on this paper. The dot grid is also an excellent feature of this pad. I have also had it in many bags and backpacks, all over the country, and in rough environments, and it has held up quite well.I highly recommend this pad to everyone.

I love this notepad. If you don't like writing on scratchy paper this may be for you. It grately improves the performance of roller ball point pens. The paper is so smooth and thick enough to keep fountain pen inks from ghosting too much.

Fountain pen friendly pad. Have been using with Sailor Studio, Visconti and Pelikan inks. Smooth with slight feedback.

Very good quality paper as I was told to expect from Rhodia notepads. Fits nicely in a portfolio meant to fit letter size or A4 notepads and with much better construction. Works great with a fountain pen and pages tear at the perforation with no fuss. Very little if any showthrough, no bleedthrough. Smooth surface that seems like comfortable for note-taking.The primary reason for this not being a 5-star review is that I ordered a white covered notepad and instead received one with an orange cover. I had already opened the packaging by the time I looked for returns policies, so I guess I'm stuck with orange. Not an issue of the manufacturing per se, though the availability of this item seems to have fluctuated over the past week or so as of writing.

Shame on me for never having picked this up sooner. Any time I ever entered a Pearl Paint, Blick's or Utrecht I'd see this next to Moleskine pads. But alas, It wasn't until a few days ago that I ordered a set. This paper makes type of ink you put down look beautiful. Each black pen/marker I used yielded a distinct result (Microns are a warmer black than it's sister product, Microderm, etc)The color pay off on this paper is incredible. You can layer on even the crappiest of markers & be able to achieve smooth even color. I used a sharpie because it's a commonly used for bold lines & texts. I was able to created a gradient of color with each color sharpie I used.Can we talk about tearing about the perforation on this pad?? It is sincerely one of the most satisfying full page removals I've ever experienced. Sheets come out in one whole piece!!You will not be disappointed. Great for any artist, writer or avid note taker. This specific pad is unlined, good to start a sketch on & ink right on.This may be the only paper I will ever want to use for ANYTHING ever again!!The only con is it does have bleed through so back up your paper!!Glad I accidentally ordered two pads.

As an avid sketch artist and doodler, this dot grid pad has been a Saint! It makes getting my images on paper so much easier! I digitize my artwork as well, and I have no issues with the dots when I scan images in. It's a game changer for me. Your pads were recommended to me by a number of people, and I finally gave in. I will continue to use only these. My sketchbook has been neglected since I purchased this. For the record, I am NOT getting paid or free items for this review. It is my honest opinion. If you draw you need this. I also purchased the A5 size because I bullet journal. These are totally worth the price I paid and more!I have tested several different plans and markers on the paper, including a couple fountain pens with a heavy wet ink, and nothing has bled through. There is also no feathering. If I could give more stars I would. My one and only complaint is that I wish I could purchase a pad that had more than 80 pages.

The media could not be loaded. I bought this Dot Pad Black Notebook to write down my everyday notes. The notebook consists of A4 dotted paper and has 80 pages that are printed front and back. The paper is perforated at the top to ensure that the pages tear off cleanly. The quality of the paper is actually as top notch as they get. It has a crisp white color and the surface is very smooth, which makes writing on it an absolute dream.I mostly use rollerball pens for my day-to-day notes, but the paper's thickness and quality makes it gel-pen and fountain-pen friendly. Tuve la oportunidad de probar este papel del Bock de Rhodia con varias de mis plumas estilogeráficas: Mont Blanc 149, Mont Blanc 146, Cartier DIABOLO, pilot 74 y Platinum Curidas, entre otras, los trazos de al escribir fluye de manera constante, no hay sangrado en la hoja (no se deforman los trazos) , también absorbe de forma correcta la tinta, ya que no traspasa la hoja, en tipo y calidad de hoja permite que las características de color y brillo de las tintas se manifiesten. Es una buena compra, por propiedades de las hojas se los recomiendo ampliamente, pero en lo particular dudaría en comprar el Block porque no es el formato ideal para mi uso, no me me hace muy practico para utilizar el reverso de la hoja, por tal motivo en lo personal para la próxima compra de la marca Rhodia mi inclinaría por comprar cuaderno o libreta para poder hacer uso de las dos caras de la hoja. En conclusión: volvería a comprar productos de la marca Rhodia, pero para atender mis necesidades sería en su versión cuaderno y libreta. En espera que mi apreciación les sea de utilidad.
