How do these compare to Huggies Overmites? We are growing out of size 6 overnites - are these as absorbant?

The Overnites are slightly more absorbent but the cut on the diaper is smaller. The l/XL for these would be the same as a size 7/8 diaper that a 7-12 year old would be wearing(70-120lbs)

Are the boys and girls the same?

The boys have thicker padding in the entire front and bottom, the back of the pull-up is thinner. This makes sense because of their anatomy. I've never used the girls pull-ups so I don't know if they are designed differently based on their anatomy as well. I do know that they design the exterior characters differently for boys and girls.

Is this product qualified for purchase using flexible spending account?

Yes, you can use FSA/HSA for these items (as of 2020 for sure, that's when I started using them for my daughter, and now for my son).

how are these different from pull ups? my son is potty trained for daytime we're working on nighttime. i'm just wondering if there's any difference.

My kid is 3. He's 42" and 57 lbs of muscle. Dad is 6'6". He's also high functioning autistic and refuses to potty train 100% so he can be like his baby siblings who are 1 and 2. To us these are just larger thicker pullups. Jack no longer fits in the largest pullup made so we buy these in bulk for all day use every day. I won't say they are perfect as he can still flood them in a 10 min car trip or if he pees more than once throughout the night without being changed, but they are this mama's saving grace right now for our linebacker of a toddler.
