almost perfect!
This power strip and voltage converter is going to make my upcoming travels so much easier! It works out of the box. It'll work for travel in 120V countries as well as the crucial 220V to 110V step down function. Just great! The only minor cons: 1) I can hear a faint hum. Probably inescapable due to the step down function. 2) It would have been amazing if this came in a travel case. Its flimsy cardboard box packaging will likely hold up for one or two extended trips. I guess I can always put it in a ziplock bag after the cardboard box disintegrates. Minor. Usually I wouldn't need one of these. The only annoying thing I have that is 110V only is my beloved electric toothbrush charger (It's a Braun, a German company! Why isn't it auto-volt????). So this solves that voltage conversion issue, plus solves other issues (multiple outlets, USB-A and USB-C ports) and comes standard with a euro type-C plug, with adapters for the other common plug types (I have a ton of these anyway, and it's always handy to have more). I can almost leave all my other plugs behind! Just bring my USB cables and my toothbrush charger, and this will handle it all.

4 weeks in Malaysia
I am planning on visiting Malaysia for a month. I knew that I would need an adapter to charge multiple items that I will be taking with me. I will be taking standard use items: iPhone, iPad, wireless headphones, rechargeable batteries, GoPro, and so on. In traveling in the past I found that I needed to charge multiple devices at once, traveling in the states I carry a multiple USB charging adapter. Since outlets are not always close to where you want to use the device I like the idea of a multi plug outlet as well as multiple USB outlets for charging with an extension cord built in. The device arrived quickly through Prime and was well packaged. The device is a three outlet power strip with 4 USB outlets on the side. Two USB outlets are labeled at 2.4 amps and two at 1 amp. Especially with larger devices like iPads, the 2.4 amp outlets should increase the speed at which they charge. The end power cord ends in a two prong plug in made for what looks like Europe. Included are three additional outlets for US and other world standards. The power cord plugs and unplugs into the main power strip unit. For a device that would sit under my desk for months or years this would be unnecessary. As a device that will be packed and unpacked on a regular basis I appreciate that the cord unplugs for packing and eliminates trying to put extreme bends in the cable where it connects to the device. I have been using the power strip at home before my trip and give initial observations. After the trip I will provide feedback on use internationally. Upon unpacking the unit feels solid and well made. Connecting the US two prong adapter was a simple process of pushing the adapter over the two prongs on the cord. Witht he device plugged in and sitting on a side table I noticed that it is solid and did not slide on the rubber feet on the base of the unit. There is a switch to turn the unit on and off. A few seconds after turning the unit on there was a slight hum, kind of like the fan in a computer tower. I am not a fan of extra noise, especially from a device that may be on all night while I am trying to sleep in a new place. I assume that it is needed for the circuitry since this will act as a transformer for potentially 240 volts in some countries for three outlets and 4 USB outlets. I have been using the charger in the living room in the evening while watching TV to charge my iPad, iPhone and other devices at times. So far it has been consistent in charging my devices with no faults or issues. Other than the low hum, it has been very nice having four USB charging outlets as I use my computer, pads and phone in the evening. The overall package is a little bit larger than I would normally like to include in my normal kit, although acceptable if I can consistently charge all of my devices internationally while I travel. I plan on packing it in my checked baggage and carry a smaller adapter in my carry on. Pro's Multiple outlets Multiple USB outlets Extension cord Outlets snug Solidl build Cons Larger than I usually travel with Has a fan like hum when on

The BESTEK Universal Travel Adapter 100-220V to 110V Voltage Converter is Outstanding !!!
BESTEK Universal Travel Adapters 100-220V to 110V are outstanding: I live outside the U.S. in an Asian Country that uses 240V power in the homes, rather than 110V. So I cannot plug my many American purchased computers, shredders, air purifiers, etc. directly into the outlets or they will blow up. So I have purchased at least 5-6 of these Bestek Universal Voltage Converters over the past three years and they work great! They are high quality and very effective and reliable. They have 3 outlets each and 4 USB plug-ins on the side for cell phone and other USB charging requirements. The kits also come with many outlet converter types, and sometimes a traveling case. Whenever I travel I also take one with me for my computer and phone charger. They make variations for Europe, Asia, and possibly other locations, so you have to order the correct unit for you, and you must know the type of outlets and plugs they use in the country you are traveling to. Some of my Bestek units have been powered on 24-hours a day 7-days a week for years. No failures or problems. Great for traveling, throw one in your backpack or travel case. I use these units in my office, bedroom, living room, and kitchen (for US purchased appliances). No problems. I highly recommend them, but do your research first to get the correct unit for you. I only wish they had 4 outlet plugs rather than 3. It is possible they make 4 plug units but I have not seen one yet on Amazon. However, three would be enough for most people.

Took care of our electronics with no problems. Does'nt work with straight irons, nor hair dryers.
This was my second attempt at a converter. The first one was the Rockstone Power 500 Watt Heavy Duty Step Up/Step Down converter. My wife took one look at it, and said "You've GOT TO BE KIDDING". Its bigger, and heavier than this converter, but it probably would have handled her straight iron, while this one didn't. But, this one is lighter, and converts 220 or 240 50 Hz power to 110 60 Hz power, and the other one's output frequency will be the same as its input frequency, so the 110 60Hz appliances will draw more power at 110 50 Hz, and the 220 50Hz appliances will draw less power at 60 Hz. I tried it out for the first time at our first hotel in Paris. We were in the lobby, and my wife needed her phone charged. Before I plugged it in, I said "Well, if the power in this hotel goes out, we'll know why", but it plugged in and turned on with no problems. It has 4 built in USB charging ports, 2 are 2.4 Amp, and two are 1.2 Amp. There was a little piece of metal somewhat blocking one of the higher power ports, but I was able to bend it out of the way. As far as I could tell, all four of the ports work fine. All three 110 V AC outlets worked fine, except with my wife's 35 Watt Straight Iron. I use a timer to make sure our iPhones don't overcharge, and it seemed to keep perfect time when plugged into the converter. I also brought a clock radio with ambient sounds that I use to mask my tinnitus at night. I didn't need the sounds much because the converter makes a soft buzz when its on that perfectly masks the noise in my ears. And, the buzz didn't seem to bother my wife, either. She says my normal masking sounds bother her. I'm giving it four stars because it didn't support my wife's 35 Watt Flat Iron. The sockets all worked for our electronics with no problems, before and after trying the flat iron in each of them, and her flat iron works fine on 110 V 60 Hz wall power. Edit: 22 Sept 2015 I didn't notice the disclaimer about not using the adapter with flat irons and hair dryers when I ordered this. I remember scouring the product information, and if I remember correctly, it said it would work; especially since my wife's flat iron is only 35 Watts. I guess we were lucky, as the iron didn't even power on when we tried it. Not even a light. I'm glad it didn't draw enough current to ruin it, as others have reported. I'm leaving the review at 4 stars because I'm rating it wrt the original product description. As a side note, the hotel blow dryers barely blow any air. I think you'd be better off going to a department or drug store and getting a cheap blow dryer and flat iron that runs on local current.

Impressed my coworkers
This worked wonderfully for both the hotel and conference room in Germany for my recent work trip. Initially I was worried with only 3 outlets but luckily the other devices that needed to use it had a USB connection allowing for the computers to use the three-prong outlets. Good thing there were only three of us on the trip. The plug on the cable is the one for Germany (two long prongs) which I didn't initially notice and was really frustrated when none of the adapters seemed to fit the holes in the socket. I blame a 20 hour travel day wrapping up with a train ride where there were more people (and their suitcases) than seats. But I did eventually notice the plug and all was good. On the downside, if you can call it that, the device does hum, I didn't find it very distracting, but if anyone uses it and likes complete silence, they might hear it. Sort of like white noise to me. For those who travel with things requiring more power (like a hair straightener), they would need to get something else. I don't use one, so it's not an issue for me, but wanted to mention it. With the exception of those two things I have no complaints. I purchased the hard travel case suggested and it worked very well, I would recommend it. The one provided is a bag and my OCD would get jittery trying to get everything in there and it look nice. The hard case worked well and fit perfectly in my computer bag.

Great International Travel Power Adapter! Must Have!
This is a great travel power adapter that will actually ensure your electronics don't get destroyed when abroad.! I have used this product multiple times abroad with no issues. One of the best things about this product is the multiple outlets and USB outputs available - meaning you can charge multiple devices at once. Furthermore, this device actually ensures the correct voltage and what not is delivered to your electronic devices, thus avoiding the concerns of damaging your expensive items. I highly recommend getting this product if you tend to travel a lot and carry enough electronic devices that require some frequent recharging. Pros: Many outputs (USB and standard USA outlet) Many adapters (Caters to many different countries and types of outlets) Voltage Regulator (Ensures your equipment will also receive the right amount of volts) Decent length power cord (Great if you want to have easy access to the ports without having to be near the originating power outlet) Over current and temperature protection (Must have to avoid electronic destruction) Not heavy Cons: Not really too much of a con but this device does have a small operating fan to regulate its operational temperature. This will pretty much be seen on any other products that offer voltage conversion, over current protection, and temperature protection. It isn't too loud and can be utilized at night without disturbing any sleeping person. It is a small cost compared to all the benefits this device offers

IT IS NOT A VOLTAGE CONVERTER, ONLY PLUG ADAPTER
This product specifically only changes the plug type, IT DOES NOT DO ANY VOLTAGE CONVERSION. ESSENTIALLY IT IS A USELESS TOOL IF YOU ARE TRYING TO USE IT FOR ANY OTHER APPLIANCE BESIDES A PHONE CHARGER. IT STATES ON IT DO NOT BUY FOR HAIR DRYER AS WELL DO NOT BUY IF YOU ARE TRAVELING OUTSIDE THE USA, AND NEED IT TO FOR HAIR DRYER, HAIR STRAIGHTENER, ANYTHING AT ALL EXCEPT CHARGING YOUR PHONE

Excellent customer service after 1 of the 2 units I bought was louder than the other one.
We bought two of these for overseas trip, one worked as it should while the other one was really loud when plugged into 220 like the fan blade was hitting something. A little frustrating that we didn't find this out until the trip itself but it only seems to be loud on the 220v circuits of which we don't have in the US. I was out of the 30 day window when I got back from our trip so it wouldn't let me replace or refund. I contacted the seller and they were great to work with and understanding. They refunded my money and just asked for a photo of the bottom of the unit. Great seller!
