Does the job
I'm not a gear nut/gadget freak and am not convinced that any (working) ligature is going to make a noticeable difference in sound. Having said that, this is a working piece of equipment, straight forward, easy to use. I wasn't even sure what the mouthpiece cap was at first, but it, too, does the job. With a traditional ligature, I never thought twice about it once it was in place and "ready to go". With this design, there's a little more play in the system. Accidentally bumping it means you will have to readjust it. And while I never noticed bumping it with my old ligature, apparently I bump it more often than I was aware. It seems I adjust this thing several times each playing session. No big deal, but an added "something" to this whole business of music making. I'm using it with Jay Metcalf's "Burnin'" mouthpiece (great mouthpiece, too!) and it fits well. Oh, and I've played professionally for just about 50 years now.

It's an OK ligature. Just another fancy ligature. Be careful when removing from the mouthpiece, you may damage your reeds.

Simple, effective, cool: A good ligature worth buying
I've used some really bad ligatures, and you can definitely tell the difference. I don't know, however, if I can really tell the performance difference between one good ligature and another. But I'd place this among the good ligatures I've used. It holds the reed surprisingly well for such a simple solution, it looks great and it doesn't get in the way of the mouthpiece/reed combination. I've spent a lot more on a high-end ligature that, frankly, I like a lot less than this one.Size it carefully. This ligature isn't adjustable and it simply won't work on the wrong size mouthpiece. For example, if you play a slim mouthpiece (like most metal ones, for instance), it will require a smaller size than a standard composite mouthpiece.A warning: The mouthpiece cover that comes with the ligature doesn't breathe; it's fine during gigs, but to NOT leave it on with your reed and toss it in the case. The reed will mildew with astounding speed.

Great!
Holds the reed well. I was concerned that this kind of ligature would slip or allow the reed to move a little but so far it has been an issue at all.

Junk
Doesn’t work- won’t hold a reed worth a darn. Do not buy.

As expected
I ordered this item after trying the tenor version and the results are the same, great ease of reed placement and consistency. This simple device allows free vibration of the reed. Sold on this device. Doubt that I will ever go back to traditional ligatures.

Very good ligature
This ligature fits both of my saxophones mouth pieces well. It allows for me to be louder and quieter than other ligatures. It is a solid piece of plastic seems pretty durable. I would buy this again!
