Wow! What great tones!
I been experimenting on a Gretsch 5420. Pulled out the factory pick-ups, wiring harness, pots, etc. added new TV Jones pick-ups and good pots , etc. i just put a set of Flats .013-.053 on it. And wow! What great sound ! Really unbelievable! I going to be ordering a few more sets.

Only in use for 2 days but WOW!
I replaced D'Addario ECG24 Chromes Flat Wound, Jazz Light, 11-50 that I had on my Godin 5th Avenue CW. I was happy with the ECG24s but had noticed an odd ringing on the e and wanted to raise the bridge. When I loosened the B it snapped (what was that about?). I had to change strings if I wanted to play.I am amazed at the difference in these strings. the Thomastiks being a higher gauge are slightly louder acoustically but they play as easy as the lower gauge D'Addarios. The difference in tension is 13 pounds total but I can't feel any change. I love the tone- warm and sweet- It is just what I wanted. Oh, the annoying twang on the e is gone. Can't address the issue about long life as opposed to price since they are only 2 days old. But I will be buying Thomastiks again.

Best flatwound strings, period.
Over many years I've tried every possible brand of flatwound strings and Thomastik stands heads and shoulders above the rest. I'd never consider using anything else on my Ltd Edition Fender Jazzmaster, although I swap the 13 and 17 plain strings for a 12 and 16, feels better for my needs. Yes, they cost more than other flatwounds, but they sound so much better that I'd pay twice the price if necessary.

Four Stars
Way brighter and slinkier than Chromes.

Great Jazz Strings!
Replaced TI Bebops (round wound) with these Swings (flat wounds) which produced the much smoother and quieter finger movement across the strings. Moreover the sound is much less bright than with the Bebops. They should continue to breakin as well!

put these on my telecaster along with a bigsby upgrade ...
put these on my telecaster along with a bigsby upgrade, took a few weeks to get use to the heavier gauge but volume and tone are greatly improved, very high quality string the previous set of 11s from the same maker had been on the guitar for 3+ years, a little more expensive than other brands but well worth it for longevity alone!

Stings fail to often
This is the second time I've pushed a set of Thomastiks and had one of the strings be defective. On both occasions the string wouldn't hold concert pitch and I realized it was slowly unravelling at the base. Given the expense of these strings this is totally unacceptable.

Best JAZZ strings - Hands Down!
First of all - I LOVE these strings! My comment is, however, directed towards whomever typed the post. These have NOTHING to do with an Accordion. They are NOT Accordion accessories, as is noted, rather they are Jazz guitar strings !!!
