SMARTSILK Twin Duvet and Mattress Protector Set

Our household is mixed on this Smartsilk Duvet and Mattress Protector.*Warmth: too cold for me, fine for husband.*Noise: has a bit of a rustle, but if you don't toss and turn much, it's tolerable.*Allergen reduction: probably good, but there are so many other factors, its hard to tell. The mattress protector does NOT encase the mattress - it is open on the bottom. We use it in conjunction with a zippered allergen encasing.*Care: ease of care depends on your washing machine. It is machine washable, but must be washed on a cold gentle cycle, which my machine cannot be set to, so I have to manually start and stop various cycles. It is difficult with a top-loader that has an agitator in the middle, because of the bulk. I also do not have a low setting on my dryer, but if hanging, it cannot go in the sun. So for my personal situation, it is a pain that the silk can't be washed or dried on a warm or normal setting.I do not like that they recommend washing every 8 weeks. I would prefer a blanket that only requires occasional spot treatments.*Other: mine did not have any bad smells to get rid of as others have reported, so that's a PLUS.We got it on sale so I am happy with it, and my husband likes it. But if I had paid the full price, and it was for myself, I'd be very upset.

Awesome product! I just love this set and am 100% happy with it. I washed everything in cold water prior to placing on my bed. For a few days it smelled like new material odor, and a little concerned. But after a few days to a week, the smell went away. It may be the smell of fresh washed down. But now that I have had it a couple weeks. I love it, because my temperature stays even and I don't itch like I used to. As I have dust allergies and this has helped tremendously. It's my favorite bedspread to date, as I sleep like an angel with this. I highly recommend this if you have allergies. Especially dust allergies. As it has helped to reduce my symptoms. And it feels just so good! A little expensive but totally worth it!

We purchased this bedding because we recently discovered our daughter is allergic to our canine family members. We've taken many measures in addition to changing bedding. Our daughter has had drastic improvement in her allergies. We don't really know how much of her improvement can be attributed to this new bedding but we have enjoyed the bedding a lot. We live in a hot humid environment, and my husband normally sweats easily if he sleeps under too much cover. This comforter breathes well. One thing I have noticed is that sometimes we wake up a little hot or stuffy IF we sleep under the sheets (under the comforter). We decided to just ditch the flat sheet and sleeping directly under this comforter, and we never have that issue anymore. I guess our sheets didn't "breathe" enough.

I LOVE this blanket!! Why? Oh, where do I begin? At night, I am always cold, my feet especially. Before I had this comforter, I dreaded going to bed at night because I couldn't stand crawling into a cold bed. I sometimes used an electric blanket, but didn't like the feel of it, including the cables. Now I climb in my bed looking forward to a light a airy blanket that produces just the right amount of warmth in no time. The duvet feels like it doesn't weigh anything, yet it keeps me warm or cool at night. For some reason, it always gets the temperature right. With my old duvet, I frequently woke up drenched in night sweats... so gross... Ever since I've been using Smartilk products, I didn't experience ANY. I also love their pillows. They are SO comfortable. Two thumbs up for their washable products!!! I can throw everything in the wash and low heat dryer!! Perfect! The company has great customer support too. Before spending this much money on bed stuff, I wanted to get a bunch of questions answered. I submitted an email form from their website and received an immediate, friendly and competent answer. Overall, the high price tag was worth every penny and then some!!Highly recommended!
