Sounds & durability cost .
I use the 112's on my GB10 - the 114's on my D'Angelico EXL-1 . I don't have to change these Strings for 6 Months. I've been using these Strings for about 20 Years , I refuse to use any other Strings .

Not just for archtop jazz!
These are the best made, most beautiful-sounding strings I've ever encountered. They're spendy, but a single set lasts for months and months if you clean them regularly, and the tone barely deteriorates over time. Yes, they're sublime for traditional jazz sounds. But contrary to most users' opinions, they are MAGNIFICENT for distortion, with stout, perfectly formed fundamentals and a minimum or sloppy highs. Remember: most guitar strings were pure nickel until the late ’60s, and much was lost when rising nickel prices prompted the industry to use other materials. For reference: I'm a longtime guitar magazine editor and recording/touring musician, as jaded as they come. These inspire me every time I pick up one of my guitars.

So far so good
I just put these strings onto my Mark Campellone Archtop and what a world of a difference it makes versus the standard round wound D'Addario's I was using (and recommended by the luthier). There is no fret noise when changing positions and they give the guitar that nice, fat, warm jazz tone that I'd been looking for. Yeah, they're pricey, but so was my guitar and I'd definitely recommend. These will be my go to from now on.

Expensive... but so worth it.
These sound fantastic!!! So maybe you won't put these on your $100 guitar... or maybe you should??? If you spent $4K on an ES-175 then clearly you've got the cash to string it up with these. Did I mention they sound fantastic??? But (just maybe) if you spent $100 on a garage sale jazz box then you've got $3900 left to buy a lifetime supply of these strings, which will surely make your bargain axe sound its best. They don't just sound great, they also feel great. To be clear, they won't make you sound great if you don't already. But if you do, they surely won't hold you back. You can buy those $6 strings and always wonder if you should have tried these... or you can just pony up the cash to find out. If you're reading this, you know you want to. Do it.

Another mindless mistake
I don’t know now I ended up buying this set of 12’s because with my twice-broken thumb I can’t barely put a half-bend on G and I really need leverage to get a bend on D! I’m probly gonna Hafty take them off and get down to a set of tens. Too old and crippled to make it plausible in the brute light of the blues cave…

Thomastik-Infeld Strings are the Sine qua non of Jazz strings heard on fine jazz recordings.
Incredibly playable on a nice jazz box. These bring out many colors of my jazz box. These Thomastik Strings are very bendable and stay in tune to boot!

Wow!
Wow! Great strings and I don’t write reviews for strings. Four stars is that low E string yarn near ball end too thick. Does not fit my tail piece and had to cut off yarn to fit. Once strung up, just wow! I have to try the js112 swing to see if it is worth the $15 price difference. But until then…wow!

Un po'costose ma di grande qualità
Ottima fattura e qualità e buona conservazione all'apertura, bellissimo suono. Purtroppo la doratura del rivestimento dei cantini tende a deteriorarsi molto facilmente (probabilmente a causa del materiale: ottone) tuttavia la corda di per sé si conserva molto bene
