Digging for Inspiration
I love a day for learning, by reading. I turn to Androla vaguely recalling him state, "I've got poems that span a decade." I don't really know what that means, but I like learning in the deep end of the pool. Sink, or swim that's when my brain changes. To that end, his poem, Digging for Inspiration.I've never read this man's man, Ray Carver. I'm certain he'll charge my silence too, but first, I study Androla's Confluence and his epiphany sheds onto my tasks. I count the poems, and pieces, and the words, and tally them against mine. I redesign. I don't give damned what anyone thinks, poetry is a competition and you write to win. And this SOB is all hall of fame. He's like the right arm of Namath. Maybe poetry is a peaceful, contemplating, lovey, feely thang.

but I always like the way it sounds
I've been reading Androla for at least 20 years now and it never gets old. You never know if you're gonna get a dose of some low to the ground meanness from the factories in Erie, PA or the ramblings of some space cadet bodhisattva. But you will always get smacked in the teeth by one of the sharpest wordsmiths around. I might not always know what he is getting at, but I always like the way it sounds. And what it sounds like is "dead cigars and garlic."

Ron shows the world for the beautiful, awful
Ron Androla is a poet of the heart and the street. His work digs between the spaces of life and outrage and does so in a voice utterly his own. Fearing nothing, confronting age, decay and life’s kaleidoscope with the swagger of a young tough on the make, Ron shows the world for the beautiful, awful, wrecked place it is. Androla is a master, a visionary, and a poet of the first rank. Confluence will slap you silly and you’ll want more.

Confluence reflects his work at its best: funny, aggro at times, and poignant.
Ron Androla is a titan of the underground poetry scene, and Confluence reflects his work at its best: funny, aggro at times, and poignant. No one else could write poems like these.

Another great book from Ron
Another great book from Ron. This one from Busted Dharma Books. Well worth your time to read. Ron's poetry has only grown stronger with age.
