Gentle, Effective, and Reliable Relief at a Great Value
Gentle, Effective, and Reliable Relief at a Great Value Kirkland Signatureโs Stool Softener has become my dependable choice for maintaining regularity without harsh side effects. Each softgel contains 100 mg of docusate sodium โ the same active ingredient as Colace โ but at a fraction of the cost. The 400-count bottle is an excellent value and lasts for months, even with daily use. What I like most is how gentle this formula is. It doesnโt cause cramping or urgency โ just a smooth, predictable result when taken consistently with adequate hydration. The softgels are small, easy to swallow, and completely tasteless. Iโve found it works especially well post-surgery or when taking medications that can cause constipation. The product quality is consistent, and Iโve never noticed any melting or capsule sticking, even during warm months. Kirklandโs formulation feels clean and reliable โ you know exactly what youโre getting. Bottom line: Kirklandโs Stool Softener provides the same dependable relief as Colace at a fraction of the price. Gentle, effective, and budget-friendly โ itโs a must-have staple in any home medicine cabinet.

Helped After My Appendectomy
Iโve always had an issue with having regular bowel movements so in order not to be constipated (cuz letโs be real, constipation can be very painful) I try to take these stool softener on a daily basis. Sometimes I forget to take them but normally Iโm pretty good about it. Last year, on a cold November night I was awoken with pain in my abdomen. It was the kind of pain that makes you take notice and doesnโt let you fall asleep. At first I thought it could be cramps or even constipation but even after taking a laxative (not a stool softener) this pain would not go away. I briefly considered it might be my appendix but since I didnโt have chills, fever or nausea I dismissed that idea from my brain. I wish I didnโt because 24 hrs later I ended up in the emergency room having surgery on an โacuteโ perforated appendix. While at the hospital they loaded me up on antibiotics and pain medication which ironically caused me to be constipated. Now for anyone whose had surgery, you know that to have a bowel movement will now be very painful. Iโm glad the doctors and nurses recommended that I take a stool softener because with all the meds I was taking and all the pain I was in I might have forgotten to take it. After having my appendix removed at old age of 52 and suffering a subsequent wound infection because of my appendix I am now religiously taking at least 2 of these a day. After the surgery I did purchase the Colace at CVS because my doctor recommended it but Iโve since gone back to using these and have not noticed a change in effectiveness. I have however noticed a change in my wallet. Lol. PS. Moral of the story is thisโฆ. If you have pain in your abdomen for more than 8 hours then take yourself to the hospital. Donโt wait for almost 24 hours like I did. If I had waited longer I might not be alive to write this review. Also if your bowel movements are irregular, it wouldnโt hurt to pop one of these pills daily to help in that area. I know it has helped me. ๐๐๐

THEY WORK_SAVE $$$_if this were name brand @ $5 for 25 tabs_this bottle would cost $80 vs $12 for generic_work just as well
UPDATE MAY 2016- you may need to take a stool softener . i recommend generic colace (docusate sodium). i have bought the kirkland brand in bottles of 400 and a generic bottle of 1,000 by Ready InCase_ looking @ the label i discovered both brands are distributed by the same company_PL Developments, out of Westbury NY__if U buy 1,000 of name brand-could cost $200 instead of $20 for generic Kirkland Signature Stool Softener Docusate Sodium 100 mg, 400 Softgels/Bottle Gericare Stool Softener Docusate Sodium 1000 Softgels, Compares to Colace, 100 mg each if you are buying a stool softener, you may also need a stimulant laxative_ i recommend Major (or any generic) bisacodyl._ the name brand is Dulcolax. f i bought the name brand Dulcolax_ with the same active ingredient of bisacodyl_ 1,000 tabs would cost $200 instead of $9-$10 the bottle i bought on April 2016 has a 'use by' date of August 2018_ 2 1/3 year shelf life. so, don't have to worry about expiring. Bisacodyl Tablets 5 Mg 1000 i've been buying these generic versions from Amazon for 12 years and never had a problem. ----------- OLD 2013 review_(They are stool softeners- and they do soften my stool. The price was much more reasonable than the drug store or super market. They don't expire until sometime in 2013 so there's plenty of time to use them.) ---------- I highly recommend these generic stool softeners and stimulant laxatives_ i take medicine that forces me to need to take these regularly- and am grateful i can get them for $10-$20 instead of $80-$200 (1,000 of the name brand bisacodyl would cost $200) i will include pics of the bottles- labels- tablets_ i hope some of what i shared was helpful 2 U_ thanks

Definitely works!
It doesn't seem as effective as colace tablets but these definitely work. Specially for the price, they are really really good. For the same price you only get 30 colace tablets. For the people who require it regularly or for a few days every so often this is great.
