Easy to set up and have purchased over 15 of them. Great timer lights!!
Love these timers! Makes it so easy to have the lights or whatever you want plugged in to be on when needed. We bought them originally for the Christmas tree and other holiday items but they worked so good we use them year around. Easy to set with the tabs you push down or up based on your desired time on and off. There is a switch on the side to keep the lights on after the times is off of you need then on longer and it remembers your settings. Nice to come home and our lights are on where we want them on. I have purchased over 15 of them so you can say we like them a lot.

Simple and perfect
I am glad that these timers still exist. My use of these are simple: Indoor-plant, part-shade lighting needed (4-6) hours. This has replaced my need for grow lights that come with timers (that usually do not work for me for very long). This timer is spot-on with turning the light on and off, as it's simple design intended. At first, I was confused because I thought the pegs were already in the “up” position, but they were not. If you are having difficulties trying to pull them up, try the basic tech-support of seeing if they will be pushed down. lol It is very easy to set the desired span of time you want something to be on/off, and so long as your clock/watch/etc that you base the timer off of is accurate, then the timer is accurate.

Reliable Mechanical Timer (Just Reset After Power Outages)
We use these in our plant room and they do an excellent job controlling the light schedule. They’re simple, reliable, and easy to set up. The only downside is that you do need to reset them if the power goes out or when there’s a time change, since they’re mechanical timers. Not a big deal, just something to be aware of. Overall, they’ve worked great for our setup.

A+ set of 2 timers 4 ur lamps. Added security while ur away. Easy 2 use; work well. Instructions.
I have gotten a number of mechanical timers, which you may think is odd, but I have to watch my son's house while he is on 3 month assignment. So I bought a number of these to do his lamps at his house, so the place looked lived in, since I live a half hour away and be there daily. These are the best I've bought, and the easiest to use. They come with instructions, which is great, since apparently I was doing it wrong with the others, pushing things down when they should have been up. Anyway, it explains it. You don't have to "program" it, per se, just push the little notches up or down. And I've seen the lamps lighting and turning off at the house, so these work well. Which is saying something, since the others I had were more complicated, and never seemed to work. Coulda been me not understanding how to program them, I give you, but these WORK, so I'm in favor of that, no matter what the problem may be. The timer is excellent, even though it is only "programmable" by the house. But when I come by, I change it, and it's easy to change, so things start an hour earlier or an hour later, just to make the times variable, so again, the house looks lived in. These are cheaper than buying a used car to park in the driveway, so I'm psyched. A+ items. Should probably have a few more so I can do all the lights in the house. The brightness depends on the lamp you use them on, so that's not an issue. And they seem very durable, since there are no computer bits to work on, or batteries to charge, etc. Simple technology that works well. A+ from us. And love that you get a 2-pack, so you can put one upstairs, one down, or in 2 different rooms. Feel like they are keeping his house safe.

These attractively priced timers are ‘old school’ simple and work very well. Completely satisfied.

Note: Mechanical timers wear out. But, please read my review!?
I have had two sets of these timers. It's no brainer to set these timers up, it's extremely Elementary. They go bad Within 8 months to a year... I had one take a nosedive on me about 11 months after I programmed it for my grow house. Since they're mechanical they will wear out due to resistance. The outside dial rotates around the center little red indicator. In time the outside dial gets harder to turn around the inside indicator and it will lock completely up. I can't say that a digital is better than a mechanical timer. I chose mechanical because I'm old school. I can touch it, feel it, and know NOW when to replace it. With a digital timer we can't do that. I learned my lesson by not paying attention to how easy that outside dial rotates around the inside. I set it to come on at 6:00 a.m. and go off at 6:00 p.m now. One morning I woke up and my light did not come on, so I looked at my timer and realized that I couldn't even turn the dial. It was not that crucial at the time but if it was a month later I would have ruined all my plants. I'm not bashing this timer! All things mechanical will wear. I have a spare one ready to go timed the same as the one that I have going right now. With these timers, I suggest that you use preventive maintenance. Every once in awhile unplug it and rotate that dial and make sure that it's rotating very easily and that it's not giving you any resistance. Note: when you turn it off and you rotated to see if it's still easy to rotate around the inside ring. You will have to reprogram it. Very easy. When you do check it. If it is getting harder to rotate then when it came out of the box, it is time for you to throw that one away and use the new one that you have already programmed and ready to go. These timers are very reliable straight out of the box and for months on in. They're very inexpensive and they work very well. So, I would highly recommend getting them. Safety in numbers. 2 is what you should have on hand. If one goes bad and you're down to the one, order two more. I mean it's like once a year that you'll be ordering these depending on how you use them. I use mine everyday. At first I had it programmed to 18 hours on, 6 hours off. Then I had to go to 12 hours on, 12 hours off. I did notice that it was harder for me to rotate the outside ring but did not pay too much attention to it until it locked up. I learned my lesson! Just want to pass that lesson on to you. The plants I grow are worth thousands of dollars and if I can rely on these, I think you could too. Just remember to do some preventive maintenance! Please check to see how easy it is to rotate. Good luck, and I hope this helped?

Tiny buttons
The timers seem to work, but the buttons are tiny and they stick to each other making it very difficult to set the desired on and off times.
