Not worth it
I know the bedbug volcano trap should be used with the lure. But I don’t see any such product anywhere on Amazon. Yes, to think the bugs will just randomly walk up the trap and fall in without an attractant is wishful thinking. I previously bought some and it had the lure in those!

IT WORKS!
This trap is highly recommended by professionals, but it's more effective when using the lure as well. The Volcano Detector is not designed to exterminate bugs, it monitors them on early detection and after treatment. The negative reviews might be from people who tried to handle an infestation with this device alone. This is what pest control companies use and recommend.

They work great but you must use the lure and replenish it ...
Have used to remove bedbugs from office buildings. They work great but you must use the lure and replenish it every few weeks.

They are helpful in an overall prevention/early detection maintenance program
They are good in the sense that you need to maintain a constant check to make sure the evil bugs are erradicated. Make sure you but them where the bugs have been seen. I have caught bugs with these. Recommend you change lure about every 6 to 8 weeks.
