Great enclosure
Easy to fit, excellent sound quality when fitted, aesthetically pleasing. I fitted one in a bathroom and it has worked a treat. The only down side is that I have now got into the habit of answering the phone via the Echo within whilst I am in the shower :)

The only product of its kind
Perfect for hiding Echo Dot Mk3 into a ceiling space. I like my Amazon music in the bathroom but didn’t want to run Echo on an extension lead. This cowl and speaker cover allows you to recess a dot into the ceiling. Seems no one else manufactures this type of product so not cheap but reasonably priced.

Bad sound, easy to install BUT.... Could be brilliant!
I would happily pay double and more. IF it was as good as it was as easy to install.CONS... Sound quality is BAD!The cable has a smaller barrel so when turned up the bass vibration disconnects the power and it reboots over and over.. Took a while to figure that but an easy fix.Buttons only usable with a cocktail stick. Not flush fit, the cover/grill falls off regularly.PRO'S it's very easy to install. This could be a massively good product, I'd love to be able to recommend it but can't. I will replace it as soon as something else becomes available on the market.

Excellent!
Better than expected! Ran Ethernet cables with a PoE adapter for power to stay in code. Fits a 5 inch ID ceiling medallion perfectly! Grill fits, but would have to trim it down slightly for my application. Noticed a rattle with the grill on.Overall great product!

Good fit, clean look
Once installed is excellent. Wish it came with a cut template like other units I bought. Tracing around the unit is not nearly as accurate

Used these to replace old Intercom System with Echo Dots
These are great! I bought 7 of them to put throughout my house to replace my existing intercom speakers with the 3rd Gen Echo Dots .It makes perfect sense in my case because we use the Echo Dots the same way we use the old intercom system... Drop-in feature to speak to each other in different rooms, Multi-room music to listen to music throughout the house, and Doorbell chime when someone presses our Ring doorbell. And we use it for even more features for smart home automations through Alexa. These in-wall flush mounts are a clean way to install the echo dots and get them out of the way. The sound is great, and the microphone picks up my voice just as well in the mount as it does out.The mount itself is easy to install. A few installation tips... The first is obvious, but remember to feed the power cord through the opening in the side of the mount before putting the mount in the wall. Also, be conscious of which direction the wire will be pointing when the mount is installed...you'll want to make sure it is not butting up against a stud or something. I had the wire pointed up, that way the volume up button is at the top and the volume down button is at the bottom. Lastly, do not over-tighten the screws that secure the mount to the bracket behind the wall; this was not a problem for me, but I could see someone driving the screws to the point of compromising the plastic back of the mount; although, it appeared to me it would take quite a bit of overdoing it to get to that point. In terms of inserting the Echo Dot into the mount, just slide it in...I like that the mount is a pressure fitting...makes it easy to remove when necessary. Also, the provided power cord extension works great as an extension to the default power adapter. However, I only needed the male end of the extension cord, which I spliced into the existing in-wall wiring for my old intercom system. (In case you're curious, no, my old intercom system did not provide the proper power rating in order to power multiple echo dots. That's where this 12V Power Transformer came in handy.)I would definitely recommend this flush mount! 3rd Gen Echo Dots12V Power Transformer

Excellent Product and Customer Service
I bought 6 of these mounts based on an earlier review of someone replacing a Nutone intercom system with Echo Dots. I had a similar setup, but the old intercom speakers didn't work properly and were expensive to replace with an updated system ($1k+). With the help of this mount I was able to use the existing wiring to create a much more upgraded and advanced system! I had little electrical experience going into this project but was able to consult a local electrician for advice. Once you know the wiring and the transformer setup it's SUPER easy! I purchased the transformer used by the previous reviewer who did this (make sure to switch from 220v to 110v on the transformer switch if your setup is like mine). I numbered all of my wiring connections as I took them off the old control board and added to transformer to make troubleshooting easier down the road. I only needed two of the three wires from the existing intercom wiring to make the system work (I used the red and blue wires and left the white one unused). I connected the red wires to the DC+ output of transformer and blue wires to DC- output, so that when I spliced the wiring from the provided wiring harness for the mount it was a red-to-red connection (make sure to cut the female end of the wiring harness that comes with the mounts). After wiring and confirming each Echo powered on properly, I began installing the mounts (I had to cutout drywall to fit the old intercom area and then had a handyman mud and tape each one to give a professional look). I used a 4 3/8" hole saw for recessed lighting and had to expand a little bit with a drywall saw to fit the mount. Once it was completed, I had an amazingly upgraded intercom and whole-house music system for the fraction of the cost of replacing the existing intercoms! I installed a spring-based access panel where the old radio and control board was located and left the new transformer in the existing housing. Very happy with the system and very happy with the customer service!
