La Crosse Technology Indoor/Outdoor Temperature & Humidity Sensor with LCD Screen - Long Battery Life, Weather Resistant Design, Range of 400 Feet

After our original gauge had been outdoors for 8 years, it finally stopped transmitting. It still works as a gauge, just wouldn't reconnect to the base indoors. So we ordered this replacement and it works exactly as one would expect.There are two similar looking gauges... a LTV-TH1 and a LTV-TH2. This is the TH2, which is exactly what I needed but I almost ordered the TH1 instead, which I believe would not have worked with my base. Be sure this is the correct unit for your base before ordering and you should be happy as well.

This is my third projection/temp clock. The outside sensors both broke with my other clocks. I did purchase the outside temp/humidity sensor with this clock. When I received the clock I did have an issue syncing to my Wi-Fi similar to others. The trick is to connect your cell phone to the slower Wi-Fi signal prior to syncing the cell app to your clock. Once synced, everything setup automatically! Another trick is to download the user’s manual (PDF) instead of using the hard-copy one supplied. Some really nice features are the dual projection cycle feature (time/outside temp) and the auto dimming feature the dims the clock display at night. Both of these feature are not mentioned in the supplied manual. The outside temp sensor is really not needed because the Wi-Fi provides that. But the temp updates are timelier and it also shows outside humidity-- so I like it. There are a lot of negative reviews shown but this is a great clock and I’m super happy it.

I was concerned about losing power to my new upright freezer while traveling. This wireless temperature and humidity device was just the thing. It is rated to operate down to -40 degrees and can transmit an RF signal up to 100 meters - less through obstacles. It was simple to configure with my La Crosse weather station. A free app from La Crosse for your smart phone can easily be configured to view temperature and set alerts to notify you when temperature exceeds a selected value. With this device and weather station combination, I no longer worry about coming home to a mess.

Original sensor got wet and died. Did the delete for the old sensor in the main unit and it found this one immediately. So far it's been working perfectly.

Worked well to link my base station to this outdoor temperature and humidity reader.In order to pair this with my base station, remove the batteries from your old sensor and put batteries into your new sensor, on the base station you have to press the sensor and - button. Then press sensor and the + button. The base will start looking for your new sensor. This can take about 10 minutes (mine took 8 minutes) to find and display the reading on your base station.

I love La Crosse weather monitor products and was disappointed that this replacement sensor began to fail within days of installation. Once synch'd up with inside display, the sensor worked perfectly for a couple of days then failed completely. The sensor LCD display went blank and remained so even with another set of new Duracell batteries installed. I removed the batteries and let the sensor sit for a couple of hours then re-installed the original batteries and the sensor came back to life! I returned the sensor to its outdoor location where it again worked fine for about 2 days then "died" again. I repeated the same test and the sensor "woke up" once again. At this point I initiated a return for a replacement unit. I expect to see the replacement within the week.

My La Crosse weather station came with a LTV-TH3 sensor, which crapped out after ending up in a puddle. I ordered this one to replace it. I was concerned that this LTV-TH2 sensor might not be compatible, but it was. I only had to “delete” the old sensor registration in the base station (directions to do so are conveniently printed on the back of the unit!) and the new one connected right away.
