Driver Recovery Steel Hawse Winch Fairlead - 10 Inch Mount

With everything else you are bolting onto the front of your vehicle to mount a winch, a 93' Jeep YJ in my case, the ability to reduce size & weight needs to be a thought. This hawse fits this need perfectly. Everything you want, nothing you don't need.

This fairlead is a rough cast heavy chunk of steel. I am a little concerned that it will be too soft under load and that the cable might cut into it. I haven't had a "chance" to use my winch yet to see how it performs. The finish chips pretty easily. Mine showed up with some chipping and small dents that appear to have occurred during shipping. I repainted mine before mounting it on my bumper. I suspect it will work ok for me, but I don't really plan on using my winch very often and would be fine if I never use it.Update: I used it with a steel cable. (Not its intentended use case.) As expected, the soft metal was chewed up a bit as it guided the cable. It did its job under and a hard pull -- dragging an indtrial tractor out of a mud hole.I will be switching to a synthetic cable and will need to clean up the burs and scrapes I've made in this fairlead using the wrong cable.

Even though I had to return it because it did not fit on my jeep this was a very nice product for the price

Can't say enough about this item. It's all beef!!! Much cleaner look over the roller type.

I used this to replace the roller fairlead on my 9500 steel cable winch. The roller was sticking out in front of the truck and this reduced the overhang by nearly 4 inches. I have used it a few times and I couldn't be happier. It does not wear on the wire rope like aluminum fairleads tend to do. So far, the paint has held up very well.

This item is heavy duty and will hold up to the challenge. The bolt holes fit perfectly but the gap/slot is too wide for the slot in my bumper.

This item is tough and sleek. Used it twice on recovery missions and the served us well. The styling is much better than the roller type flinstalled previously. The price...that's unbeatable!

The roller fairlead that came with the winch would not work with the bumper on the Jeep I'm working on. The Steel Hawse fixed the problem. And it was shipped fast! Thanks
