Takes 3 AAA batteries and has a push button backswitch. The UV Leds are rated at 395 nM for the 21 Led array. This light has strong UV light that is excellent for detecting the presence of urine,counterfeit bill detection and other uv chores. Darkening a room always improves seeing UV fluorescence.
