Simple, sturdy, very effective
I've been looking for a decent cell phone mount for my bike that had to meet these requirements:1. could hold an iphone XS Max in an OtterBox Defender case.2. decently priced (doesn't cost an arm and a leg)First one was uber important as I cannot stand the idea of taking my cell phone out of the case.there are thousands of mounts out there but I had trouble finding one in store or online that would meet my requirements. I tried this one on a lark. In the few days since I received it I have gone on two 12 + mile rides and the mount has done its job well. Admittedly I do not have a mountain bike, just a 21 speed road bike meant to be ridden on paved pathways (roads, paved bike trails) so I cannot vouch for its performance on bumpy trails but I have to think it would do decently. The phone didn't budge on either ride and I'm very happy with that. A lot of people will not be terribly pleased that you can't rotate the phone on a whim (a bolt locks it in place either in portrait or landscape position) but I personally prefer the portrait position anyways so that's not bothersome to me.definitely worth the purchase if you're looking for something that will just flat work for road bikes. probably ok for mountain biking but given how rough that sort of terrain can be you might need to look for something else.

very secure, holds iphone 8 plus with case on hybrid bike!
I was on the hunt for a phone holder that would hold my iphone 8 plus with case - I didn't want to have to have a full time case with an integrated mount, or be constantly swapping cases. Tried a few of the higher rated ones on Amazon that use the webbing/band style grips to secure the phone. Most couldn't easily handle the added thickness of a case, or took two hands and a minute or so to unsecure.Came across this mount, and it's everything I wanted. Opens up wide to easily slide in the phone, easy to use one handed, tall enough to hold with a case, and super secure. Granted this is mounted on a hybrid bike that I ride around the neighborhood with my son or haul a bike trailer on sidewalks/paved paths so I can't speak to the extremes that it will hold, but we have biked on some very bumpy gravel paths and construction areas, and nothing has loosened.Keep an eye on what comes out of the box! There are two clear liners that are supposed to provide some cushioning between mount ring and the handlebar, which I almost threw away thinking they were packaging. It also comes with plastic shims for smaller handlebars. Not a lot of adjustability, if your handlebar has some bends then it might sit at an odd angle, I was able to mount it right next to my stem (trek verve 2) and it's perfect. It's also beefy, so if you're looking to save grams this probably isn't for you, but on 25+ lbs commuter/hybrid/comfort bike where weight's not a concern, this fits right in.

If you want a sturdy phone holder for thick cases, this is it!
Bought this GUB aluminium phone holder for the extra long fingers holding phones with extra thick cases.I have an iPhone 7 with Otterbox Defender case which I wanted mounted on my Kawasaki Versys X 300, and this was one of the only holders that ticked all the boxes I wanted:- Aluminium construction- Allen key fastening for security- Rotating knob for quick phone insertion & removal- Keyed 0/90/270/360 degree rotation (this could be an issue if your handle bars are at an angle)- Possibility of modifying unit for personal preference (this would be difficult - if not impossible - for plastic phone holders)Fitment was super easy using the supplied allen keys and inserts to suit the 22.2mm handle bars. There are 25.4mm inserts also supplied, as well as glued foam for sticking to the clamp fingers.I didn’t use these as the clamps dig in beautifully into the rubber of the Otterbox case, providing an extremely secure grip on the phone. There is no way you can even pry the phone from the grips, once tightened!Drove the 60km home tonight, and this holder is completely vibration free and sturdy!I am very happy with this purchase, fit and finish is excellent as well.

Almost perfect for the money.
PHONE: Ulefone armor 3wLIKES: Easy install. Sturdy. Grips like a vice grip. Phone is going nowhere. Easy to use.DISLIKES: Angle is not adjustable. Kinda ugly looking. Also, made in china with terrible directions.Overall: If you are trying to save money, this may be it, as it worked for my gigantic phone. My phone is thicker than a note with an otter box or LifeProof case...fits fine, holds like cement.Buyer beware... The viewing angle depends on the angle of your bars. Any vertical or horizontal area works best. Angled areas of handlebars, not so much. This is why my review lacks a star

Stop looking, this is what you want.
If you are someone who always has their phone in a heavy duty case to protect from drops such as an Otter Box or similar phone case. Stop looking for something to hold your phone right now, this is the device you want. The looks and function of this init are exceptional. It hooks up in minutes and you could literally drive your bike thru a hurricane while driving on a washboard and your phone won’t move. Great design and easy to operate. The only draw back for some might be that you can’t turn your phone sideways to view, it isn’t adjustable that way. That wouldn’t work for me anyway so it is a non issue.

Fits large, thick cases. Very secure.
35 years on 6 different motorcycles cafes and cruisers (yes, I pre dated cell phones). Had the smaller pronged version of this for last 2 years and used Otterbox cases and now armored Beetle case with it. Tethered in phone b/c there were a few incidents. It was never entirely secure as the original version was developed with a thin cell phone, no case in mind. (C'MON people! What iddeeoat would have a straight phone and no protective case on said conveyances!? ) THIS holder shows a marked improvement with the deeper prongs for big-width, armored cases. It is VERY secure and I don't tether anymore. ***if you run a pop socket or other bulky extraneous on the back of the case, I would keep looking. *** The bulky add ons would probably not work. I have a thin, steel plate on mine with zero probs. I think even a slight finger ring would also pass. Let me know if there's any questions. Very, very happy now.
