Cabidor Classic | Behind The Door | Adjustable | Medicine Cabinet, Kitchen Cabinet, & Bathroom Storage Cabinet

Purchased about 18 months ago; I got the non mirror model because clearance behind the door was so limited I didn't want it to crack. It's made out of a very sturdy plastic. I prefer plastic to wood since in my experience painted wood and laminate tends to peel in a wet bathroom environment and look shabby after a few years. Our bathroom is humid and this looks as good as it did the day we installed it. I'm extremely happy with this purchase. I wasn't thrilled with the idea of paying almost $200 for a storage accessory but this is BY FAR the best investment I've made in a while. It holds SO MUCH stuff and it barely take up any room. It just blends in. If we ever move I'm taking this with us. It's so useful. The magnet is pretty strong and you have to really yank to open the door. I taped a piece of paper over the magnet and that helped to make it easier to open. You only see the piece of paper when the cabinet is open and it's really high up so it doesn't change the aesthetic The most challenging part was the installation and lining up the door hinges. But I did it first try. I definitely needed help installing it- that part was a two person job. If you are considering this and it's in your budget I would say go for it. I have no regrets.

I'm one of those people who hates putting things together, never shops at Ikea & am timing a purchase with the visit of my more handy friends. But alas none of my handy friends are in my COVID bubble & I realize I need more cabinets space in my home. I agree with the other reviews, the cabinet is too thick for most doors. But knowing this, I decided to install it on a do I don't need to fully open. When it arrived, there was a hole on the flat side & the seams were separating on one side. I immediately processed a return & my replacement arrived quickly. To be fair there was damage to the box that I didn't immediately notice & because the box is so big & the item fairly heavy, I didn't notice until I removed it from my house. However, I'm confused how it was damaged as it was packed really nicely & there was no damage to the "Styrofoam" sheet. But I consider it Murphy's law (it arrived1 day before a party at my house)... The 2nd one arrived in a couple of days & I immediately inspected the box carefully. Then I inspected the cabinet carefully. No holes or gaps at the seams. So I rested while I mentally prepared to install this while the 6yr old was at school & couldn't "help". The instructions are correct. It would've been easier as a 2 person job. But IF you find you only have 1 person, use the Styrofoam (& a smaller, flattened) cardboard box to give you the required height. I know I'm not only person who saves shipping boxes just in case. So do your self a favor if you're installing this alone, figure out what material you need to hold this fairly even with your bottom hinge. Look at the top & make sure its not taller than the door & the holes aren't above the top hinge. Ok, now follow the instructions. I measured twice, (because of the old adage, measure twice cut once) but somehow still managed not to get the bottom holder in line with the hinge. Did I mention I hate items that I have to assemble/ install? But eventually, after 3 tries, I got everything to line up. & everything else was easy. Oh, it did take several videos for me to figure out how to take out a hinge pin. So if, you've never done that, that part will also be a source of difficulty. As far as the actual cabinet, I do need to screw the metal plate to the door (it sticks there but when I close the cabinet & reopen it, the plate goes with the cabinet. Not a big deal & it's nice to know, that is a strong magnet. It stores a lot & keeps items out of sight making the space cleaner. But I do agree, its depth is too thick for most doors

This is a life saver when you need extra storage. It’s super easy to install. And is a great price. I did it alone and it took me about an hour and a half. I like how you can customize the height of each shelf. I have a lot of tall bottles so I chose to to do three large shelves and three small shelves which left me with one shelf left over. If I need to add it back in on a later date it will be very easy to do so l. There were some minor cosmetic damages on the cabinet and shelves as seen in the first two pictures. Some “rust” looking stains on three of the shelves and a small crack in the top left corner in the wood of the cabinet. Nothing major and not anything I would lower the 5-star rating for. It would be more of a hassle to pack this back up and ship it back than for me to just keep it and deal with the minor damage. Should that crack become bigger or detract from the functionality of the cabinet I will come back and update the review. As for now it looks amazing. Such a smart idea for extra storage. You definitely will not regret purchasing this cabinet.

I have very little cabinet space in my bathroom and this is the perfect solution! I normally won't give product reviews without compensation because my time is valuable, but I like this one so much that I decided to break my rule. My only complaint is that the magnetic catch that attaches to the door didn't stay adhered. I left it in place for two days before using it to allow the adhesive time to cure, but it came off almost immediately after using. It did come with screws so I'll attach it to the door with them. Here are some tips: - unpack carefully because it would be easy to damage the cabinet because of the size of it - install rods prior to mounting (twisting the rods per the instructions made it so much easier to insert them) - use a piece of the packing material to protect the edge of the shelf when installing the rods

This is an excellent solution for homes where there is not a lot of closet space. We recently moved into a home of this nature, and I had been storing all of my bathroom supplies in the towel closet, because there was not anywhere additional to store my stuff. I am very pleased that I may finally be able to move my vitamins and other supplies out of the towel closet and put towels in there! The Cabidor works great for our low-storage home! I just wish there were more doors we could use to put Cabidors on! Now, if I could take off 1/2 point for the instructions and ease of setup, I would. The instructions were not always accurate. It was not possible to place the Cabidor precisely on my door hinges. Really, more holes should have been pre-drilled in th side of the Cabidor in order for it to be a perfect fit. Be prepared to make adjustments as you go, and be willing to accept a slightly "off" placement. (And yes, I followed the instructions and tried placing one connector upside down, but it still did not work). But, in the end, the Cabidor functions well, so there is not much to complain about. A few recommendations that may make your set-up easier... Loosen the top and bottom door hinge before you attempt to place the Cabidor. The instructions tell you to place the top part of the Cabidor over the top hinge, and THEN loosen the other hinge. That may not work. It was impossible to place the hammer in a position to loosen the other hinge once the Cabidor was placed. If you loosen both hinges first, it will be way easier. Measuring the proper distance according to the instructions did not provide me with the right placement. I ended up having to unscrew everything and re-do it several times. Perhaps my door does not function according to standard measurements. It would have been easier if I would have placed the top connector, and then visually inspected where the bottom connector needed to go as opposed to relying on the tape measure and instructions. Despite a slightly complicated set-up, I am thrilled with the storage solution. The shelves are fully adjustable and I can move them easily if my storage needs change. I definitely recommend it!

I was pleasantly surprised when opening this last week after it arrived quickly. It was very well packed - impressive with the rubber corner protectors, extra heavy cardboard, & padding. I ordered the Cabidor without the mirror, but would expect it to be equally well packaged. I took out the instructions to read the day before installation & was equally impressed. I was so impressed that I assumed it was made in the USA & looked for the sticker - very surprised that it came from China. I used to write curriculum, then instructions for how to use software. I am always frustrated when I read instructions or directions with mistakes, steps left out, poor spelling or grammar - often times it is very obvious that they were written by someone without a good command of the English language or without regard to the customer doing the assembly. I also know that instructions sometimes look clear until you actually begin to assemble or install, but not the case with these. The steps were well written & easy to follow - everything went as planned. The only difference I found was that it called for 8 tiny washers & only 4 were provided. I am not sure 8 are actually needed, but I had an extra 4 anyway. The adhesive on the magnet does not stick to the bathroom door I used, but there were 2 extra screws in the materials & I used them to attach the magnet to the door. The rods that are used were easy to insert into the pre-drilled holes - perhaps a little too easy. The small rubber grommets slide along the rod with no friction. If the rods become a problem in the future & slide out, I may have to put a rubber band or find another solution to keep them from sliding out. For the few days I have used it, there has been no problem. Overall, this is a great solution for storage, an easy installation, & an impressive delivery. I will be ordering another one & recommending that my daughter get some for her house.

This cabinet arrived with the absolute most FANTASTIC packaging I have ever seen. They leave nothing to chance or careless delivery people. I give endless stars for that. Once you get the gist of it, it is pretty easy to assemble and install. Me and hubby took about an hour. Much of that was figuring my needs of shelf height so we knew where to put the metal rods that keep stuff from falling off. You really need to place the rods before you hang the cabinet. Shelfs can be adjusted after hanging. I would advise you have a good idea of what you plan to put in the cabinet before you assemble. My previous bathroom was more than double the size so I needed extra storage. I wish it were about 2-3 inches wider but maybe I should cut down on all my products. The depth is fine for most things and the height is just right for most doors. Do pay attention too how much room you have between hinges and wall you need at least 3 1/2 inches. I'm measuring all the doors in this new house too see where I can put another one of these. I would like one with the mirror. I don't know if you can paint it but I wish they offered more colors, white or brown is not my thing a medium tone gray or black would fit my house. All in all this is one of the best decisions I've made to purchase this. I am not paid to declare this is a wonderful item and I hope to order more of them.

I bought this to store some of my game controllers and peripherals. As you can see in the attached picture, I was able to fit quite a bit in the cabinet. My N64 controllers and Atari paddles took up way too much room for me to attempt putting them in there, so I’ll be putting those in a separate free standing cabinet with my other larger peripherals and all of the console cables. If you’re looking at this to store games, I would reconsider. My Atari 2600 cartridges fit perfectly, but if you have Nintendo Switch games in the cases they’d have to be placed with the front sides facing out, which kinda defeats the purpose since you wouldn’t be able to find the game you want without shifting everything around. This obviously applies to WiiU, PS, and Xbox games, as well, since those cases are larger than the Switch. The magnet keeps the cabinet securely closed and I no longer have to dust my controllers all the time. Just make sure to let the adhesive on the magnet cure for a bit before you use it. I waited 24 hours to be safe. I was able to purchase additional shelving directly from the Cabidor website and shipping was very fast. I do wish the cabinet was a bit wider. The height is great, but an extra inch or two of width would make a huge difference. The rods are a bit of a pain to secure in place, as well, but I don’t know what they could do differently with those. I also can’t push this open all the way to the wall, but that’s because whoever designed these apartments put in super thick (~3/4”) door frames. If you have thick door frames, you may want to look for something else unless you don’t mind not being able to open the door all the way. Overall, though, I’m super happy with my purchase.

This is one of my favourite purchases on Amazon so far. So happy I found this! The instructions were clear, the packaging was great. While it clearly said two people should install this, I was able to install this on my own in less than an hour. Installation Tips: > Make sure all your tools are on the same side of your door as you! > I initially installed the magnet on the top part as instructed, but found it was better on the bottom. > I installed the top bracket with the hook at the top, and the bottom inverted with the hook on the lower part since it allowed the hooks to rest on the hinges better ++ I love that it fits so much more than I expected! Top row, hair supplies, second row, makeup, etc. The empty row in the photo is for my boyfriend's stuff. ++ It looks like built-ins! Sometimes I just leave it open - unattached to the door, and it looks like I have perfect built ins on a wall that would otherwise be useless. ++ The bottom part of the cabinet clears the baseboard quite perfectly so it is level top to bottom when resting on the wall. (be mindful if your baseboards are high and thick) ++ Adjusting the shelving is so easy! The rods are a nice touch - without them, the stuff would fall out when you pull the Cabidor away from the strong magnet. It's so much fun to use that unused space behind the door. After I installed this, I started to look at all the doors in my place, to see where else I could put this! I wish they had a narrower option, I would love to put one on the laundry door (which is narrow since I live in a condo).

I was very impressed with this product, especially the way it was shipped. The exterior box arrived with some punctures, but the interior was so well protected there was no damage. I was especially impressed with the ‘corner protectors’. I’ve seen tv’s shipped with less corner protection. The installation was very simple, and the instructions were sufficiently clear to make it a quick job. The only complaints I have are that it could be about 2” wider, maybe there is a model that is, I don’t know, my wife bought, I just installed it. Also, the lower hinge hanger could be redesigned so that the hinge mount was in the middle of the part which would allow much easier tightening of the screw closest to the door hing itself. Overall, 10/10, would buy again

This was a perfect solution for our bathroom storage as we replaced the old mirrored medicine cabinet and needed an economical replacement. The product arrived in a well packed carton and everything needed to install was included with very detailed instructions. Shelf appears to very well built, was easy to install and provides the storage needed, I'm glad I stumbled across this product while searching amazon and would recommend it to anyone that is looking for a storage solution in a small area.

The Cabidor is a very clever idea and well executed. We just moved into a smaller townhouse that has almost no storage in the bathrooms, and not a lot of places to add storage. We were looking for something other than the over the toilet cabinets, so when we saw the Cabidor on Amazon, it looked like exactly what we needed. The first one arrived with a crack in the side, but the second one was perfect. The instructions say that it's a 2 person installation, and it really is so make sure you have help. When it comes time to remove the hinge pins and mount the cabinet, I don't see how one person could possibly do it. Other than that, the instructions are easy to follow. We have it up and full and it's terrific. My only complaints: - The glue on the magnetic plate is not strong enough, so be prepared to screw the plate into your door or to supplement the glue to make it stick. - The specs say that 3.5" is needed behind the door and it's really closer to 4" that is needed. Other than that, we like it enough that we're actually considering getting another one to use as a pantry for the kitchen.
